Since our announcement on Thursday, GOG has been seeing an incredible and enthusiastic response from members of the community, gamers on the Internet, and blogs and press outlets everywhere. Thanks so much for your interest and support, and thanks for all your (many, many!) preorders. We thought we'd gather up a list here of the blogs where we've seen the news of our release posted, and also ask you guys if you know of anywhere that we've shown up that we missed.

Well, I could understand from a competition-critical kind of viewpoint, but what competition is there? No seriously, I can't really think of a good reason not to publish some rough numbers. It would surely inspire me, for one!

Arassar: Seems like only people on GOG like to complain about a digital game being the same price as a disk. Steam folks don't do that. ;)
Short check at Steam forums proves you wrong. Not to mention many threads by Australians and popular European "Looks like $1 = €1 after all" thread - where people complain about overpricing of games on their Steam Store compared to US/UK store (and retail) - you will never see that on GOG ;)

I'm wondering, with all of this great response for the Witcher 2, is it too far of a leap to expect the Witcher to appear here before hand? Hmm...

It is at the price the Witcher EE currently retails at. CDP can't undercut retail copies to that extent and I doubt they could afford to sell the retail EE any cheaper and still hope to make a profit.

Why? Witcher (1) is available at all kinds of places DRM free already (if you have the Enhanced Edition) and if you do not have the Enhanced, you can download a massive patch that allows you a "free upgrade" to Enhanced, removing all the DRM from the game. (It requires a full install of the files, but it works great)

It's also completely uncensored.

Good point but do you think that they may sell Witcher 1 at a comparable price to that of other retailers? Witcher 2 is certainly not adhering to our typical price points, would they make an additional exception for the first game as well?

I got Witcher enhanced off of amazon.com for only 6 bucks so im guessing they could do it here for even 10 bucks and people would buy it and they'd make a peofit.

They could do. But then that could set a precedent for single releases being sold for about $15 - 20. I think that GOG want to avoid that until they've got as many games as they can get at the current prices.

I dunno.....someone said that was the normal price in one of the other threads, so i'm guessing that if the amazon price is normal then gog can charge 4 bucks higher so as not to undercut others and still get sales.
