This is getting ridiculous. Switzerland, Canada, Sweden, Norway and Australia get a discount while people from Poland and Czech Republic have to pay more than the base price? And Italy has to pay the highest price in the world? Germany (which not only consist of rich regions) has to pay 500% more than Russia?

I'm sure it is all about fairnes...

Or maybe this is how they decide the prices for each country.

Hurry up then, I'm pretty sure they'll fix it soon.

As for the Vikings prices, oh hell...
And, ya know, just a little example picked: Denmark, 25% VAT, ~3000 EUR / month average net salary, 20% discount. Malta, 18% VAT, ~1000 EUR / month average net salary, 25% surcharge. So much for any excuses.

Not only Italy, but also Cyprus, Greece, Malta, Portugal and Spain. You know, those economic juggernauts... :\

Anyway, I got curious and I wondered whether this 25.5% surcharge for the Vikings pre-order was the highest relative regional price ever. MaGog doesn't seem to be able to produce this list, so I did it myself from the raw data. Turns out Vikings takes only the 15th place.

BTW, I'm pretty sure most of the top places in that list are errors. For instance, the top 3 are DLC upgrades with ridiculous top prices which cannot be anything else than a bug.

Also, those games which are more expensive in Lating America than anywhere else also smell buggy...

muntdefems:
Those top ones sure look like bugs though. Some seem to be discounts based on higher prices, the Ronin upgrade has the same price for AU/NZ as the actual package... no idea what's going on with that Stasis upgrade...

Edit: Ninja'd :)

I'm surprised that there are so many games on the list that are more expensive in Australia and New Zealand. I thought those countries get a discount most of the times.

Take into account that the list only displays the top price region for each game, so AU & NZ probably also get a surcharge in other of those games. But there must be more games for which they get a discount, resulting in the average ~10.6% discount listed in "The Matrix".

Nah, I have no interest in the game. I was really just being a bit silly since I've vocally opposed regional pricing on GOG in the past.

Wow, this is just depressing. Because of there probably being bugs and because of the ridiculous pricing schemes :-(
I really miss the old times.

Add me to that list. These pricing schemes are ridiculous indeed :-/
Didn't they introduce regional prices to be able to offer new releases, particularly AAA titles?
Sad to see all critics were right from the word go.

They also introduced it because it wasn't fair for GOG customers getting preferential pricing compared to other stores, Steam was mentioned in particular. But apparently it's more than fair for GOG customers getting the shaft. *points at latest EA releases*

A wild regionally priced game appears! At least it only includes the usual discounts and isn't more expensive than the base price anywhere...

The newly added game Cossacks II Anthology is regionally priced:

>>> It is $5.29 instead of $9.99 in regAR, BR, CL, CO, MX, PE
>>> It is $4.49 instead of $9.99 in RU, UA, regUZ
