muntdefems: I bring you some strange things today: AAA games with regional pricing schemes that are 'more fair' than those of some indie games (Sorcerer King, I'm looking at you >_>), a slight regional discount (Agatha Christie), and a very, very curious way of reducing a game's base price (Subject 13):

[...]

---------------------------

Pricing changed for Subject 13

>>> Base price changed from $19.99 to $9.99
>>> Price history for this game: On September 22, 2016, price changed from $19.99 to $9.99

>>> Game no longer regionally priced in PR

>>> Game is now regionally priced ($19.99 instead of $9.99) in AE, AU, CH, regCN, regCZ, regDE, DK, GB, HK, ID, IN, regIT, KR, MC, MT, MY, NL, NO, NZ, PH, PL, regRO, regRS, SA, SE, SG, SK, TH, TR, TW, ZA

>>> Regional price changed from $6.39 to $3.75 in RU, UA, regUZ
I hope this regional pricing of $19.99 instead of $9.99 is just oversight, and is going to be rectified pronto. Otherwise... I'm lost for words.

And same old EA and GOG, no surprises there.

Obvious bug there, somebody forgot the rest. Or maybe they save incrementally, with each change, and MaGOG updated just as they were working on it?
Holy shit, EA added regional prices for my region!

Now if only they'd do the same for the rest of the games in their catalog. :(

It's still priced at $19.99 for me, so that incremental change/update, if the case, is taking its sweet time.

Run MaGOG again in 20 minutes and Subject 13's prices should look a little more normal after that. Sorry about the mix up.

EDIT: typo
For me it shows $9.99 now. So I guess it is indeed a bug.

Wow, it got changed in less than 4min from the time I made that post. Shows correctly for me too now.
Yep, I get $9.99 too now, so it looks like it's fixed. :)

I'm afraid MaGog will keep reporting the buggy regional prices until its next DB update in about 4 hours. It only updates 4 times a day: at 1AM, 7AM, 1PM, and 7PM GMT.

All's well that ends well then, thanks for the heads up. Should probably also check if anybody happened to buy it at the old price during that time though.

Apart from Subject 13 going back to "normal", it would seem like the Army Men games are about to be un-locked on Brazil (MaGog's data still lists them as locked there, though):

Pricing changed for Army Men

>>> Game is now regionally priced ($2.49 instead of $5.99) in BR

Pricing changed for Army Men II

The Army Men games are now cheaper in BR than they are in RU, interesting. Economic shift, eh? ;)

I also noticed how the RU prices of the newly released EA games are the only prices that kind of reflect the "realities of the market". You can get these games for basically nothing in other stores nowadays. GOG just likes to be special.

Isn't it always GOG customers that get special treatment, one way or the other?

MaGog has informed me today that the price for Sorcerer King in Uruguay (UY) is now different from anywhere else. For some reason, it costs there $3.69 (cf. $12.59 in regUZ, $11.79 in regAR, $11.49 in BR, $6.39 in RU). It looks very much like a bug (perhaps someone tried to input $6.39 in UZ and ended up with $3.69 in UY). I am going to wait a week, to see if GOG fixes this, before deploying the new region.

Until next week, Uruguay is listed as "Unknown" in "The Matrix" table.

It certainly looks like a typo, but at the same time I wonder why would Uruguay get such a better treatment than their neighbours. :\

Anyways... anybody in Western Europe wants to pre-order a game with more than a 25% surcharge?
