Dismember77777: Criminal act? What are immigrants in Norway doing?

Race exists regardless of what we think.
avatar
sanscript: We just have to agree to disagree on that :D
I actually agree with him.

Humans is one race. Lions another.

The vast majority of immigrants in Norway are working btw. Often shit jobs that Norwegians don't want, like cleaning office floors and toilets, but work nonetheless. Others are in the service industry, though it must also be said that most of these are Swedes.

It all makes perfect sense, until you find out that they torched own country and beat fellow countrymen - in order to clean "prestigious" toilets elsewhere.

zeogold: I'm not saying we can do anything about it now. I just know that we could have done better. Of course what matters is the future, but perhaps we can take this as a lesson.
I get what you're saying. What I'm trying to point out to you is that the lesson is not about the candidates that stood out as the only two viable choices, but about why they were the only two viable choices, and what that says about the crossroads we currently find ourselves in.

Yes, I voted. No, I did not choose either candidate. Which I'm doubtless sure will lead you/others to say I wasted my vote, which is a completely different discussion altogether. I voted third-party since it's the only thing I could do with a clear conscience, and I value my morals above all else.
Well, you guessed right. You absolutely wasted your vote and are exhibit A as to why fence-sitters are useless and only ever end up favoring one side or the other through their inaction. This wasn't a mock election at school for people to virtue-signal their morals - it was a pivotal moment in American history, and voting for any candidate other than Clinton or Trump was the equivalent of voting for Harambe and showing how little you could bring yourself to care about the election.

avatar
pearnon: You still don't get it. You don't get how much bigger than two figures this all was about, and how both perfectly - perfectly - embodied that conflict
avatar
Nirth: Do you have a decent article that discusses this particular issue?
If you're curious, this article sums up the whole thing rather nicely.

avatar
Trilarion: The thing is that leaders always set examples. If the elected president does it, so can you. Racism can thrive when coming from the top. Doesn't have to though. There might be enough decent people around. To be fair, already four years ago some people expressed their dismay at "that nigger" being elected again. The difference to now is that this time they can feel morally right having a majority of the electoral college behind them. So some more might feel encouraged.
You might have a point... had Trump said anything disparaging about any race, or made it a campaign issue. As it is, you're just swallowing the lies and misrepresentations hook, line and sinker.

Even if we all have the same roots its obvious we aren't all the same.

Cute to see that Trump supporters are actual, technical, racists. Not in any metaphorical way (functionnaly racializing cultures, nationalities, etc), but in the most restrictive, genuine, pseudo-scientifical, racialist sense.

All the puzzle pieces are in place for the announced 20th century remake.
Can votes be ''wasted'' in the first place? Do they not exist to allow the person to vote for who they want and hence, if a person votes for who they want, isn't that vote successful?

Right.... I think you're confusing race with culture! Even if it was enough differences in our gens, it still wouldn't matter. Classifying humans solely based on their background is the epitome of idiocracy.

You can never move forward in a civilized discussion if one continues to put up socially constructed hinders like that.

Culture is a product of the each ethnic group.

That whole statement is wonderfully abstract.

People are already classified by their background (Black/White)

socially constructed hinders?

What just happened - neither of you understood what Telika meant, and now you both repeated what I wrote...?
