How do you set up GOG games with nGlide ?

spinefarm: Carmageddon will be hard to get here :) And Turok is owned by Capcom....
avatar
Roman5: Carmageddon will actually be easy to get because all of the rights are owned by Stainless Games again, this is why they are doing a sequel to Carmageddon right now
Actually, they have said they have no interest in selling their old titles, instead letting fans just download them.

So unless we can convince them otherwise, no Carmageddon :(
Awesome news

Check out the gallery as it has many excellent games.

Tormentfan: Anything that increases the abaility for older games to be played again is great, but why would Diablo 2 need a wrapper, doesn't it work just fine without one?

mistermumbles: It had an option for some really weird looking faux 3D effect if your hardware supported it.
Good weird or bad weird?
NVM. Now I see it...

I remember it gave me a headache.

Just install the program and select glide video mode during in game.. Some games you need to tweak a little bit, some of them not working at all.

you can find the workaround at

Most of the solution applicable to retail version, but some of them works with GOG version.

Does nGlide make Gorky 17 work properly? Because this would go a long way if it did. Then it could finally be fixed.

Ok :/ That would fall under the 'bad weird' heading.

I didn't know there was such an option or that they'd be so different, I'll have to see if I can find a video that shows them, I'm quite interested now.

Fuzzyfireball: This is good news indeed, but I have a question.

Does this mean older releases will get updated? Like i76?
I guess this will be a priority only in games that are 'problematic' in versions currently available on GOG. Otherwise they will probably focus on preparing new releases with hardware accelerated gfx like Tomb Raider or Wing Commander 5. Don't really count on seeing GOG old releases upgraded to Glide popping every week (although it would be just great).

I don't see Odium/Gorky 17 in the compatibility menu so it looks like no fix for that game as of yet.

I find it adds to the look of the game - what it seems to do is render the background terrain as a 3D surface and then move / distort the shapes of the sprites that make up objects based on your position.
It makes it look as though you're viewing the game through a camera at a certain point in space rather than having a perspective-less view of a scrolling 2D background.

But it's also not marked as 'Not playable' :-)
