Roman5: Fantastic news

Hopefully this means more great games soon here on GOG

Especially ones like Carmageddon and Turok
Carmageddon will be hard to get here :) And Turok is owned by Capcom....
I have used nGlide before. It's pretty simple and effective. Awesome news!

Tormentfan: Anything that increases the abaility for older games to be played again is great, but why would Diablo 2 need a wrapper, doesn't it work just fine without one?
It had an option for some really weird looking faux 3D effect if your hardware supported it.
What would be interesting is to get a list of games on the Nglide compatibility list, owned by publishers that are already signed, but not on GOG yet.
That mean the installer for games like Blood, Blood 2, Kingpin, Pod or whatever that have 3Dfx option will be updated? I use this software since a longtime, and they listen to customer feedback which is really great.
That sounds excellant more classic games in their original graphical glory.
And i'm hoping to see Speed Buster updated with 3Dfx2 using nGlide wrapper. The original GoG version run the game in DirectX 6 mode, which is not the highest setting. And the game itself has trouble to run with nGlide.

spinefarm: If they work together we will definetly see most of the titles on that list. And that sound as a good news to me

Pheace: Nglide doesn't own the licenses to those games do they? They just have a wrapper that allows for better game emulation in the case of 3DFX games.

Them showing up on GOG would still require the publishers go-ahead. Although yes, if some of the publishers currently signed had games that wouldn't work without this I'd imagine they'll start showing up.

So at the moment GOG uses Dosbox, ScummVM, NGlide at least to work their magic for us :)
I ment the games supported with nGlide from publishers already on board:
Clive Barker's Undying (EA)
Daikatana (Eidos)
Heavy Gear (Activision)
SiN (Acitivision)

This are just couple of them...that can come with ease :)
I wonder if they get a percentage off all proceeds. The way it's phrased it certainly sounds like it doesn't matter which game you buy on GOG.

It would seem a bit unrealistic though. I guess it's possible they didn't want to highlight only the games that benefit them due to their partnership.

spinefarm: Daikatana (Eidos)
Would I be a bad person if I bought a copy of Daikatana just for the historical value? Or would I be a bad person if I instead bought a copy of Daikatana with the intention of actually playing the entire game? Or would I just be John Romero's bitch either way?
I just wet myself.
This is good news indeed, but I have a question.

Does this mean older releases will get updated? Like i76?

We are all John Romero's bitches anyways :D

No, you'd just realize the hate is overblown and see that the game is extremely average, though it will occasionally try hard to piss you off.

Carmageddon will actually be easy to get because all of the rights are owned by Stainless Games again, this is why they are doing a sequel to Carmageddon right now
