It seems that you're using an outdated browser. Some things may not work as they should (or don't work at all). We suggest you upgrade newer and better browser like: Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer or Opera
SirPrimalform: No game on Desura requires the client. They used to require it to install, but now they host standalone game installers too. You don't ever need to use the client.
Oh, that's pretty cool then. Haven't used it myself so didn't know.

It is cool! I only started buying stuff directly from there once they did that. I guess they had lots of requests for that or something.
Quick post to state that during the GOG survey I said yes for new games and specifically asked for indies. When asked about the price points I said 20$ referring to an old quote: "never pay more than 20 dollars for a computer game". I'm happy I'm in the majority on both counts (indie + price point).
There are some funny arguments from the dev and the backers but honestly I don't care enough. The developer can price his game $25 or 100 times that. It's his choice. It only means I won't be buying. Guess I'm not part of the "core audience". Cause "core audience" = "more $$$" obviously. O.o

I only knew about this after this fiasco, but still, to hear it again, that's actually really good news. The client bothered me and was one of the reasons I never bought anything from Desura before.
For my part. I don't want to see new games on GOG (with the witcher being an exception due to their association with CDprojekt). I only want to see games come on GOG after a few years as a bundle with all their expansions and patches.
TheEnigmaticT: This is a bit of a touchy topic, and I'm probably making a mistake by kicking over this anthill, but I did just want to hop in and say that we evaluated the game and decided that, at $25, it didn't seem like a good fit for GOG.com.
Nothing personal against the devs, and I do wish them every success. I'm a big fan of XCOM and have been watching Xenonauts for a good long time before it was on kickstarter. It's just one of those things that didn't end up shaking out.
With all due respect... after looking at this thread full of people willing to pay as much then you clearly are blind to your consumer's desires or just don't have a very strong desire to make money.

With all due respect are you freaking kidding me? at least half the posts in here are people asking chris wtf he's thinking asking for $25 or more for a game which isn't even a rare type anymore...
Oh he also has access to the survey which more people answered than this forum post which probably flat out tells them most people here want to pay a max of 20 for indie games...
