GOG.com's catalog has around 300 titles already, and we add new titles most every week (admittedly, we’re taking a bit of a break on new releases for the rest of the holiday season). Our catalog might be a little intimidating for a GOG user who hasn’t poked around it a lot, not to mention our new members. Yes, we have loads of classics you know GOG.com for like Fallout, Duke Nukem 3D, Baldur's Gate, Freespace 2, Myst, etc., but there are games that have landed under the radar of the masses--but they still deserve your attention!

As a guide to some of these gems, we’re offering a three part series over the next 10 days, whereby we’ll give you insight into what some of us on the GOG team think are the most underappreciated gems in our catalog. Each of these articles will be focused on a different genre of games, and this article by Cook covers hidden gems in two genres: RPG and adventure games.
I would love to see The last Dutchman mine...or was it the Lost Dutchman Mine. I wanted to grow a beard and wished for a pickaxe for my 10th birthday because of that game !!
What does the community at large think about star craft 2?

nosrou: a 2001 game called Oni is awesome, by bungie west, a division of bungie. Also can't find it anywhere and its awesome!
Oni was the best game of it's time! I hear Oni 2 is making a comeback in the VERY near future...

In the recent past though, the Anniversary Edition came out May last year.

would like to see the thief series here on GOG. It was a great game. Other suggestions:

KOTOR 1+2
Deus Ex
What i would like to see on GOG is Little Big Adventure (Relentless: Twinsen's Adventure) & Little Big Adventure 2 (Twinsen's Odyssey) by Adeline Software.
I would like to see 2 of Sierra's games offered on GOG -- Shivers and Shivers 2. Shivers was the very first adventure game I ever played and it hooked me on that genre.
I'm still hoping that GOG will release my favourite adventure series of all time - Quest for Glory. My old CD collection works okay on my current DOSBox setup but to have a GOG version would be amazing! I'm surprised it has been overlooked, considering most of the other Sierra series are available.
A few old games I can think about are, Chariots of War and Legion.
And some more off the top of ma head :)
Star Lancer
Freelancer
Robin Hood: The Legend of Sherwood
Rune, that old viking game that I once bought on CD yet never played it cause it refused to work on my computer :(
How about the Older total war games, TBS & RTS combined.
Shogun Total War
Medieval Total War

More RTS:
Age of Mythology
i would like to see space hulk & perfect general 1, legacy of the ancients

I vividly remember playing Oni in college, using the Mac labs when there weren't classes scheduled. It was a pretty awesome game. I recall liking it a lot, especially the fighting. What sticks out most in my memory was the incredible smoothness of the framerate. Smooth as silk.

I'd love to get that game back in my hands and see how it holds up to memory.

That would be awesome! Speaking of Bungie, I'd also love to see the Myth series being added as well.

I agree, good choice! I only played the first Myth, but even still, I'd like to have another go at it.
