mqstout: EA recently had their employee who said GOG was not an authorized seller of EA games, too. It could be as simple as that.
Perhaps I'm being generous. I definitely want to know *why* companies like Team17, or the other-mentioned Aspyr, decide not to update on GOG. Tiny teams (Stardew Valley, Rimworld, Grim Dawn, Megaquarium, Parkitect, and innumerable others) have no problems doing it. What about deploying to GOG regularly scares them?
To make it clear. My post was not meant as a call for hate for Team 17 - there was a reason I directed it at GOG since I really hope that GOG will look into this. As it has been said, the quote in the OP is from Team 17's Discord and yes, maybe and hopefully a mod just misspoke as it obviously was the case with EA - I really hope so. But the fact alone that it does not seem to be a problem for a mod to simply say "We don't have any intentions on updating GOG" imo is a problem. It only shows that such things here on GOG do happen on a regular basis and that at least some mod on the Team 17 Discord does not consider this to be a problem. Well, it is - and it is a breach of contract as well ... however if there aren't any consequences for this the contract is not worth the paper it is written on. I only want GOG to do what's right even if it means that their partners won't like it ... especially if their partners don't behave like true partners anyway.
mqstout: I also do want to say I'm
okay with slightly delayed updates, especially if they know they're in a flurry of regular updates and will have a bunch of hotfixes coming up. I'm OK to miss out on the little +x.y.1 hotfixes and wait for the next "stable" release, so long as it's not too long... a week at most?
I agree. Slightly delayed updates - especially in the case of small devs - aren't a problem for me as well. The thing that triggered me so much was the arrogance in what I quoted that basically said "Oh, you're a GOGer ... oh, no - we decided we won't update your game (don't expect us to give you any reason for this) - but btw, thanks for your support and your money". This simply is something that HAS to stop. It is not something that we have experienced for weeks - this is going on for years and it would be so great if GOG would finally fight for us because I am getting tired of fighting their fight.
mqstout: I sent a chat message to a blue (SmollestLight) to see if we might make sure we get GOG's eyes on this.
Great idea, thank you.
Alexim: Just to give you an idea of who we're dealing with, news just came out that Team17 made record-breaking revenues. These guys are rolling in money and treating us customers like beggars.

my name is supyreor catte: Sounds like a repeat of the TinyBuild saga. :/
Unfortunately it does. Afair the tinyBuild saga had a happy ending with them updating all their games and apologizing - maybe something like this will happen here as well.
