For a newbie like me flavors are a bit confusing, but it's ok whatever you decide.
In the meantime, I hope this is correct now:

ZFR: C) Only vote/votus count (and if the player wants to add a spell, they can always add it too).
This would be my preference, to allow for easily searching for votes when rereading the thread.

However, since you started the game with "A)" as the rule, no objection from me to just keeping that up, either.
Heh. Another wagon taking off too quickly.

unvotus

Or, if necessary

uninterrogatus

Also gogtrial actually already answered my question.

ZFR: Would you prefer:

A) Leave as is. Vote has to be in a line by itself.

B) A bolded vote/votus can be put anywhere, since it's obvious a player is voting. Any other spell has to be in a line by itself.

C) Only vote/votus count (and if the player wants to add a spell, they can always add it too).

?
I am ok with B, but would also be ok with A if that's what the majority wants.

Also Bump please

Thank you...I wanted to make sure my post to OP gave them a ping so they could read my reply to their question/poll.

Question: Wouldn't it be hard to search for votes anyways, if some players used the word vote or votus in other(non voting) posts?

I agree somewhat, though, and had an idea: players might want to add the word vote somewhere in such voting posts, to make it easier for others to search for them.

Those'd be false positives, and would be easy to ignore. But searching for "vot", I'd be certain to catch 100% of all actual votes, so wouldn't have any false negatives.

If any bolded word is allowed as a vote, there wouldn't be any string I could search for, and I'd have to visually scan each page for bolded strings (or do a search through the raw HTML), which is a lot more hassle.

True enough...that aside, though, shouldn't town!Gogtrial be reading the posts carefully to help find scum anyways? ;)

(Also fwiw even if the system stays as is I will be adding the word vote to any future vote or unvote posts.....somewhere in the post....to help you and others find them easier)

B makes the most sense to me, if ZFR's happy with it, though Joe is co to go with the flow

gogtrial34987: the whole silly thing
Raises eyebrows
Lol, seriously? I wrote two posts, with both real talk and flavour blocks. When Joe criticized my "Greetings" flavour (something which I had--and spent--literal days to compose when IRL was temporarily slow), and when i was next that perfect combination of bored and quite tired which is conducive to silliness, I felt like writing another flavour post to ding Joe and make fun of the whole Sherlock Holmes thing that was going on. it was a joke. When you are that perfect combo of bored and tired, with nothing going on to analyze, the creative juices start flowing, or at least the humor does. (See my stanley hotel flavour posts when i was equally bored) So, sadly, do the typos.

Anyway, if there had been the slightest bit of anything to talk about, I'd say this was Scum-gogtrial trying to sew confusion over nada. If you relate the dig at me as being the same "trying to start a convo" as you did towards Cat, I'll let it slide, but I shall remember this and it will go on your tally in case you start doing other non-towny things. (like trying to turn us into a village or a city)
However, kudos for trying to start convos. However, as we had people who said they wouldn't be available until after the weekend, IIRC, and it is still Sunday, I see nothing wrong with slackers slacking another day. Especially if they cause laffs.

gogtrial34987: town or devious anti-town gogtrial
This is very hard to read. You would have the guts as scum to say exactly those words n order to look better to us, and scum needs to sow confusion.
avatar
gogtrial34987: hide in the shadows
eh, my pet theory is some scum love to yak it up and steer the convo, while others hide. This statement is therefore, reads as 60% true
Meantime, all things considered, I think this warrants nothing more than
FOS GOGtrial Thank you for giving us something to discuss, even if you didn't mean for it to be yourself. ;-)

@Joe Nice bit of deduction; I didn't realize that the sugary whipped thing spread across cakes, cupcakes, and what you term biscuits wasn't a thing over there. i should have termed it "icing", i now see. See also https://www.britishgirlbakes.com/recipes/buttercream-frosting/ and

Thank you for the replay in Sienna color.
Also, you poor souls don't have Jello over there? My dearest sympathies.
Why did you post before the opening post?

Where's Trent?

I'm bored again, but I did play a lot of Lux Delux (the american wars campaign and part of the Ancient World campaign) and quite enjoyed it.

@ZFR
I'm fine with either A or C. I agree that B is Definitely Out. I like C in that you can use Ctrl+F to find all the votes, but A is okay also.

Laters as I was just called to help cook Sunday Dinner/Lunch/BigMealoftheDay. remind me i had something to say

You had something to say.

That aside, though: you did get that Option B is essentially as easy to find as Option C if players use the words vote or votus, right? :)
i'm back, in a Somewhat better mood than earlier. Got to get up Tomorrow morning for my first actual day back in work (now they've reopened the Colleges) so this is just a quick catch up. boo!

avatar
gogtrial34987: Sorry to hear that, and for probably contributing to it. I hope you'll feel better, soon!

I was trying to drag the game out of RVS a bit by manufacturing some sort of argument (because in the end, it's the responsibility of all of us to get some content out of today, and that very much includes me, too).
No, it wasn't to do with anything you did. I still disagree with your reasoning, but I'm sorry for taking it so personally!

I can see what you were doing and it's similar to something that happened between me and Cadaver on D1 of GOG's Restaurant.

Regarding Micro, I'm sure I remember him doing some role playing in the past but I'm not sure there was quite this volume of text. I don't know what to make of that.

avatar
ZFR: A) Leave as is. Vote has to be in a line by itself.
I'm fine with this. I generally always try to put my votes on a line by themselves because I think it makes them easier to spot.

Everyone knows that shortening words is for chumppes.
Oh crap, I got carried away by other activites and forgot about this game altogether. Unfortuantely this will be it for tonight as it is already midnight and I am tired. Sorry.

In the meantime:
Unvotus
Then I am going to vote trenton because he is not here.
But as it is still wrong I am going to unvote again and I am going to
vote Phaolo
because he looks like shady person.
From the few meaningful posts that have happened, not much really going on.

But, gogtrial is probably Town and I have no interest in voting him today

Unvote gogtrial

trentonlf: But, gogtrial is probably Town ...
Please explain your reasoning? I have him as decidedly neutral at the moment, which makes me wonder--what did I miss?

Please stay safe and healthy. :(
I have previously written large blocks of text (see the linked Shining post 67 -- where I didn't have several days of thinking / composing pre-game, unlike this time, when i wrote much of my 1st flavour post ahead of game) and my defense in that game in
Post 135. I think you will find a consistent thread throughout my games that when i am bored and tired, the humorous and/or flavourful writing occurs. Anyway, think what you will. (You were going to, anyway, amiright?)
Agreed.

Yeeees, but if it is by itself in a line that makes it easier to read/find for quick "will i hammer if i vote now" panicked searches (by Joe? :P )

Thank you for the reminder, I really appreciate it. Sadly, whatever it was has entirely slipped my mind between dinner, a friend unexpectedly dropping in to use a tool, and then a compulsory 3 hour nap. I hope to remember it soon.

In the meantime, time for my 2nd RVS vote. For daring to shorten a 4-letter word into 2 letters:

vote Joe
