gogtrial34987: Ooh, a mite defensive, aren't we?

I'm glad to see you take such a strong stance on quantity of posting being a significant factor, though. None of this "quality" stuff, I always say. Completely overrated!

Which of the low-quantity players do you think would be most deserving of being bothering by me?
I'm not doing this with you. I just think it's hypocritical for you to complain about no-one posting for 10 hours and then point the finger at me for making a joke post as if it's my responsibility to make the game happen somehow. Where was everyone else for 10 hours? I don't know and I don't really care.

*Raises hand*

One can always bother me, regardless of how much i've posted. :D
(I like reading replies and replying, as one can likely tell)

(Also note: I replied to you in the post 44 above)
You know what, I'm not having a good day and my mood is just bleeding over into mafia. I'll come back later an re-read things in a different mindset.

JoeSapphire: aha! You're not from london at all, are you!
avatar
my name is coole catte: Inspector Sapphire, you've done it again! You'll have to tell us all how you did it on the way back to the Yard.
It was a simple matter of deduction! I first knew there was a problem when microfish said:

*flash back with slightly faded colours, slight echo on the sound, and in slightly slow motion*

avatar
Microfish_1: Cakes... ah, such lovely delicacies, cakes. "Heavy on the frosting, light on the sprinkles," as I say
I wondered at the word 'frosting'... I knew it couldn't be in reference to the etching of glass to obscure it's clarity, as that has no relation to the delicacy in topic. Nor, I understood, could mirofish be describing the actual application of rime as the very notion is patently absurd.

Now when attempting to recreate a sequence of events within the imagination, I have always believed that once the impossible has been eliminated you will be left with precisely ONE narrative which you MUST accept no matter how improbable.

In this case, improbable as it may seem, my dedcuctive reasoning has led me to conclude that Microfish was using the term 'frosting' to refer to the ornamental confectionery that is commonly spread atop sweetmeats.

A habit unique to our more distant colonial nations!

Sorry to hear that, and for probably contributing to it. I hope you'll feel better, soon!

I was trying to drag the game out of RVS a bit by manufacturing some sort of argument (because in the end, it's the responsibility of all of us to get some content out of today, and that very much includes me, too).
Vote Count

catte 3 - nmillar, GH, gogtrial
Joe 2 - blotunga, catte
Micro 2 - Lift, Joe
gogtrial 1 - trent
nmillar 1 - Vitek
GH 1 - Micro

12 players in game. Takes 7 to lynch.

catte is wardrobe at L-4

When you see a vote count, please make sure your name is against the correct person. Let me know if it isn't.

gogtrial34987: What do you think of microfish starting roleplaying? He hasn't been prone to that in any other game that I recall, has he? (Please correct me if I'm wrong.)
avatar
GymHenson: Micro has posted flavor in several games before....not always so much, but sometimes it was around that amount. Dunno if it means anything or not, though.
I understand you don't know "for certain" if it means anything or not, but maybe you have a tiny lean? Think about the microfish you know from all the games you've played with him. Think about what he's posted here so far. There's a difference.

Now imagine microfish being town yet again. There's no doubt in your mind; you're certain he's town. What you don't know yet is, how would you explain the difference with this knowledge? Think on that for a moment, and then tell us.

Now imagine microfish finally rolling scum. There's no doubt in your mind; you're certain he's scum. What you don't know yet is, how would you explain the difference with this knowledge? Think on that for a moment, and then tell us.

Having done both exercises, which of the two narratives rings true to you?

manufacture an argument? how did you imagine that playing out?

JoeSapphire: manufacture an argument? how did you imagine that playing out?
Did I use the wrong idiom?

In any case, my intention was: There's nothing to talk about, so let's find something to nitpick and blow out of proportion, and see what reaction I get. I expected this to fizzle out swiftly, with a tiny chance of me picking scum to have the argument with and them slipping, and a slightly larger but still small chance of scum seeing the argument in progress and reinforcing or shading either side too strongly.

We'd then have a subject on which we could ask other people what they'd think of it, and start getting some reads going, and hey look, we'd be getting out of RVS.

What do you think? Was this town-gogtrial, or devious anti-town-gogtrial?
Hey, my accio spell worked! Great!

gogtrial34987: 10 hours of no activity, the game completely stalled before it's even begun, and this is what you contribute?
And that's reason enough to place a third vote on Catte, thereby starting the first actual train? Please explain.

interrogatus gogtrial
Ok, gogtrial is causing too much chaos for a Gryffindor.

I wasn't conscious of it being the third vote, but even if I had been, I don't think that'd have stopped me - this is not an "actual train" by any definition I hold to, as none of the votes are serious, and so each of us would get off once serious votes started happening (and if not, that'd warrant a whole lot of attention).

Iiiinteresting!

Tell me, phaolo, how much reading did you do in preparation for the game?

Scum absolutely want chaos - but they also want to hide in the shadows. The fewer interactions there are to analyze by town, the better for them.

phaolo: Headslappus and Votus gogtrial34987
Sorry to keep reminding, but a vote has to be fully bolded in a line.
Replied to Gogtrial and Phaolo:

Tbh, I lean them more town than scum, but still closer to the middles/neutral than to town.

That said: I have a theory re: Micro's flavor, but I don't want to possibly help scum by saying too much, so i'll keep it to myself for now.

(If it would be more beneficial to the team later on I would reveal it then, however)

+++++++++++++++++

@Phaolo: If you meant that vote to count, please note that you need to put the vote on it's own line & bolded, and with no extra text but the name and action(either the word vote or some form of spell name and the user's name, in bold).
Sorry for being anal about it, I don't intend to be annoying and the reason for this rule is not to make your lives difficult on purpose. However, since spell names can be used in place of votes, allowing it to be included in the middle of text can be dangerous. For example, someone might write "I don't like the way he's playing, and therefore I accuse Bookwyrm of being scum." In this case it's not clear if "accuse" is the name of a spell and this is a vote, or if the player simply meant to accuse Bookwyrm without voting.

I know that 9 times out of 10 it is clear if the person is voting or not, but that 1 time that is not clear it can cause problems, escpecially towards end game at LYLO or MYLO.

I really like the flavour of the different voting spells (ever since Joe did something similar in his Pokemon game), however if this is going to be inconvenient to players I'm willing to change this. So this is a questino to everyone who'd like to give their input on this. Would you prefer:

A) Leave as is. Vote has to be in a line by itself.

B) A bolded vote/votus can be put anywhere, since it's obvious a player is voting. Any other spell has to be in a line by itself.

C) Only vote/votus count (and if the player wants to add a spell, they can always add it too).
