Oh good, it doesn't look like I've missed much. I'm so sleepy I think I'm going to go to bed now.

Lifthrasil: Do you mean Micro's bolded letters in post 90? The 'alphabetical order'?
Yes, that was one of the two posters I meant.
(He has made a similar odd "thing" in at least one other post, btw. Did you spot that one as well? Also did you notice the other poster? To avoid possibly helping scum by pointing them out, though, i'd appreciate it if you would just reply with a simple yes or no to these questions)

avatar
Lifthrasil: I read that as joke, since I don't see any way to hide a message or breadcrumb in a simple abc. So I don't think that this is a Town-PR breadcrumbing and I also don't think that it's a hidden communication between scum. Why would they need to communicate in this way? And what would the message be?
If scum or town, who knows.

That said, I still found it(and at least one other post by them and one other poster) a bit "interesting".

avatar
Lifthrasil: So, if that post is one of those you refer to, what exactly is it that you find odd about it?
The bolding at random, as you said...at least in that particular post.

avatar
Lifthrasil: And @Micro: and, for completeness sake, what was the point of the 'alphabetization'?
Yeah, i'd now like to know this as well.

@Catte: But it's "only" 11:19 PM :D

Dont'cha know that's as bad as feeding a gremlin after midnight?

Great, now I gotta cast some banishing charms in case they get lured back. o.0 ;D

JoeSapphire: what do you see scum gogtrial doing?

Just finished at work, and was hoping to find some time to give to the game but didn't manage. I'm going to look after a friend's child for the evening now, and I'm not sure I'll get a chance to get on the internet but I'll try!
The answer was in my post that I poorly worded "He is more reactive and pushing when he sees an opening than he is trying to create openings to push"

I see Town gogtrial being more reactive and pushing when he sees an opening and I see Scum gogtrial trying to create those openings to react to and push. It's subtle but it's all I can typically find different in his play style.
avatar
Lifthrasil: As I'm not certain I'm parsing this correctly, who do you mean for each of these "him"s?
In that case him == gogtrial.

avatar
Lifthrasil: You're right that placing a 3rd vote, making someone's train the longest is kind of serious. But did micro say somewhere, that gogtrial wants a d1 early lynch?

About you believing trent's read or not: you didn't say explicitly that you follow trent's read. But you use trent's read as an argument to focus on Micro. At least that's how I read post 84.
Nope - I was saying that why would gogtrial want an early lynch.

Don't read too much about the focusing on Micro. I just wanted him out of his lair. I do wonder if he truly didn't notice he was third on the wagon.
COMMENT 112 is SPAM, please downvote it.

I also want to know why nmillar thought 2 votes was too much. :/

@GR @Lift the alphabetizing was not breadcrumbing, nor was it a joke--I was listing my reasons in alphabetical order for a variety of reasons, as enumerated below.

I shall rewrite it with emphasis added.

As i see it, we have either (alphabetical order)
a) Scum Trent Attempting to pocket town gogtrial. Unsure as this is early and obvious, but maybe he's setting groundwork for later.
B) Scum Trent Became rushed and saying anything to look busy--Gogtrial in this case might or might not be scum, this has to be read as NAI right now, but might revisit later.
C) Scum Trent Communicating something to scum gogtrial in code because of no day-chat (though daychat has I guess become a thing here? It wasn't in the last HP game, but ZFR might be doing things differently this time.)
D) Third-party Trent Doing something similar to A, but with slightly different motives.
E) Town Trent Exhibiting honesty, but without reasoning. The Danger is that this appears as skating.
F) Town Trent Formulating a message to a teammate with whom he shares a NC. This does not exclude E).
I was trying to use the following format: [alignment] Trent [thoughts/reasons/ideas] The [thought/reasons/ideas] started with a word beginning with the first letter that corresponded to that reason's letter. Thus reason 4 / D has the first word of the reason beginning with the fourth letter of the alphabet, reason 5 / E has the first word of the reason beginning with the 5th letter of the alphabet, etc. No code, no nothing, just numbering my reasons--and the mental jumps to stretch my brain in order to come up with words that fit both my thought patterns and the letter.

I thought it would be obvious enough that i could eliminate the Numbering system before the alignment, but apparently not.

I also alphabetized my reasons because alphabetical lists are easier to follow. (Scum > Third-party > Town > trent > First Letter of the Reason/Thought, and rewrote the opening word of the thought process when I couldn't think of a word that would make it alphabetical and fit the numbering system. I even shuffled reasons around to make them alphabetical if that was easier than rewriting it.

As a result, some of it could be called mental exercise, the way my dad does sudoku, and my grandparents do crossword puzzles.

@GR do you mean the posts by Joppo? I take it this means he is in the observation channel. If you mean another post, i'm not sure what you mean. It could be that you are seeing things? Also, if you found my alphabetical post weird because alphabetizing...that's weird. A previous game both SPF and Pooka, if memory serves, wrote long sentences with the alphabet and vowels in them, and no one -- yourself included -- thought it odd.

If I become convinced that anybody appears to be scum, i will vote them.

my name is coole catte: Is Joe just attracting RVS votes like bees to vinegar or is there something to it?
"Bees to vinegar" is this a british phrase or is this scum-code? I am used to "attract flies with honey", and yours seems very different.

trentonlf: The answer was in my post that I poorly worded "He is more reactive and pushing when he sees an opening than he is trying to create openings to push"

I see Town gogtrial being more reactive and pushing when he sees an opening and I see Scum gogtrial trying to create those openings to react to and push. It's subtle but it's all I can typically find different in his play style.
Thank you for rephrasing. if you can see the difference in gogtrial's posts, i envy you. So far, it eludes me. As such, I will consider your opinion but not take it as absolute truth.

++++++++

I do wish more people would come and say something. Joe, GR, and Catte have each contributed a little meat and a lot of non-meat in their posts so far, but I want something to sink my teeth into, whether by them or by others.
Vote Count

Joe 2 - Micro, gogtrial
catte 1 - GH
Micro 1 - Joe
gogtrial 1 - phaolo
phaolo 1 - Vitek

Not voting - dedo, Lift, trent, blotunga, catte, nmillar

Joe is closest at L-5

12 players in game. Takes 7 to lynch.

GymHenson: Also slightly bigger-er question to all: Why is everyone hopping off wagons so bloomin' much? o.0

I get not wanting to lynch town, but what if one of them wagons was/is a scum player?
Have you noticed what kind of wagons they were so far and the reasons people had for voting?

avatar
GymHenson: That said, I still found it(and at least one other post by them and one other poster) a bit "interesting".
As in scummy interesting?

Are you aware he himself stated he was rying to manufacture argument? Did that make you think more of his town play?
avatar
GymHenson: At the time of your unvote there was only one other vote on Catte.....a far cry from the amount needed to lynch.

That said, why remove the vote?

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Also slightly bigger-er question to all: Why is everyone hopping off wagons so bloomin' much? o.0
Because we're in RVS?

OMGUS

Hey everyone, sorry for the delay. I'm back and will catch up some time today and get on track with the game.
avatar
Microfish_1: @Vitek as ZFR is not around to tell you you are wrong about your team (I mean, he is, but he also isn't, If you know what I mean) I'm going to tell you that your readlist is wrong as far as I am concered.
Because you know some of those other 2 are town? :-)

avatar
Microfish_1: What are your thoughts on the questions you ask gogtrial? Do you agree with his reasoning?
I like my questions. Not really, that's why I argue about them.
But fo now it is yet to be decided if it is simple differing views or if it is because he is scum.

avatar
nmillar: This question has to pop up every game, doesn't it? :)

I vote for him every game in RVS.
For the record, last game my problem wasn't you voting him but the fact you somewhat felt it would make your real vote against him seen as less worthy that voting Pooka.
Not that it is relevant here but I have to take care of my image. :-)

Vinegar is the sweetest thing they know in UK so it is the most apporiate thing to use there.

I just inverted it for l'effet comique. I like your interpretation better though.

Do you mind if I call you Toto?

Because Toto, I've a feeling we're not in RVS any more.

I do however bless the rains down in Africa.

I blame Br£x!t.

Hmm, given that gogtrial's "manufactured argument" thing is similar to things I've done in the past I don't think it's all that suspicious by itself. Unless someone has a compelling reason that town!gogtrial wouldn't do this?
