gogtrial34987: If you call the few posts I've directed your way a "fixation", you must have skipped half the thread where I was going back and forth with scene. *g*

As far as I recall (I didn't go back to check), I never even commented upon your vote/unvote when it happened (as plenty of other people were already doing so). I did ask you what you thought of their reactions (as you seemed to not open up very much), but let it rest after that.
My interest, however, was piqued by your #284, where after a long absence you didn't respond to any specific questions which were asked you, and displayed an attitude that to me feels anti-town.

Now, different people have different playstyles (ref: flub), but a (to me) first occurrence of such a playstyle deserves to be examined very closely for veracity.
Sadly, your responses to that examination seem lacking quite a bit.

- Repeatedly ignored questions (preventing town from gaining information)
- claimed to be purposefully trying for a non-AI playstyle (preventing town from gaining information)
- claimed not to understand why you were being "singled out"
- followed up on that with a doozy of a question toward microfish (who does deserve attention! but you didn't put in the effort to put any real pressure on him)
- unnecessarily claimed at L-4 (you were at L-3 at #294, scene unvoted you in #295, and you claimed in #296.
Now hang on, I was typing my reply while scene unvoted me. And I really thought it was L-2. Either way my wagon was building quite rapidly and a vanilla town claim won't hurt anyone I think. If I had a power role, I would've waited longer.

As for post #284 feeling anti-town, I don't get it. I woke up, and skimmed through the questions and whatever happened and tried to answer them as good as I could.

supplementscene: GOGtrial is correct when he states if you are Town you should be highlighting potential Mafia players from your perspective.

You say Flub was opportunistically wagon building on your wagon but he was only vote 2 and you had made a few perculiar votes, unvotes and comments. Since then Dedoporno and Trent have got on your wagon. Do you believe they were wagon building or genuinely thought our their votes as Town?

It almost seems like you've given up at this stage though, which even if you get lynched you shouldn't if you are Town.
Trent doesn't feels scum if you ask that. From dedo I can say very little, in post 284 referenced above I said that I can understand that he voted me after the vote/unvote, but then he was a non-participant mostly after that. So I have no idea.

JoeSapphire: Blotunga's unrequested-vanilla-claim eliminates my masons theory
avatar
agentcarr16: Why?
If he's vanilla he can't be mason, and if he's lying he can't be town.

I'm not mason, nor lying. Why again did you start my wagon?

It's definitely hurtful. You're narrowing the field where scum would have to look for a PR.
Generally, claiming before L-1 seems unnecessary to me. No town player should hammer a player at L-1 without giving them the time to claim, which means that scum will generally also refrain from it for risk of standing out.

Take the time to go back till your last post before #284, which was #165 and just read all the mentions of your name from them on. (Huh, I actually just did so, and it turned out I was the only one who directed question to you (in #261); everyone else was just talking about you.)
But, so, "skimming through the questions and whatever happened" is in itself anti-town behaviour. Scum doesn't need to pay attention to what's happening; they already know all they need to know. Town needs to pay attention and to do more than "skim"; to not let others form the narrative, but come to their own conclusions and share them. You weren't doing this, you were going out of your way to inform us that you were trying to be deliberately hard to read, and you didn't answer specific questions (even if they turn out to have only been mine) which were designed to try and give a better feeling for you, given that you were universally seen as noteworthy through your vote/unvote.

Do you now understand why #284 feels anti-town to me?

So I did answer it. As for claiming, scene did it so I did it, I didn't saw anything wrong by doing it, maybe it was premature.

blotunga: ........

maybe it was premature.
Premature claiming is totally treatable.

Please consult your physician.

Are you 100% sure this is the exact phrasing in your pm?
avatar
flubbucket: My PM says Jack the Ripper, Vanilla Town.
[not verbatim]
I know this is a joke, but if you were the SK you would be very hard to catch

How do you "know" this is a joke??
Forgot to answer my skimming, well, I have an x amount of time and the thread grew quite fast. So skimming is all I have, I can't go back and re-read everything.

blotunga: Btw I'm also vanilla town Laura Roslin
Okay the reason I asked about your role is because there is no 'Vanilla Town' role in the C9++ List of Roles. Can you explain that?
avatar
gogtrial34987: Is this still a current feeling?
The vote was sort of RVS, the thinking behind it was serious but not enough to support actually lunching him at this point.

Out of the two leading wagons I'm leaning towards the blotunga one for a couple of reasons (perceived flip flopping, and he never responded when pressed about it). It's not a super strong read and TBH I would support the scene wagon over a no-lynch if we came up against the deadline.

If he had instead used the exact phrasing, would you instead be making the argument that he must be lying because he hasn't been modkilled for quoting?

Do you want to trick me to quote exactly? I'm not doing that again. But indeed it said Townie as in the wiki page.

Hey guys, we have arrived and but the looks of it I'll have a pretty decent internet access. I'm taking my boy to the pool now and will check-in in a few hours. It seems something is going on.

Also I wonder about this fixation, maybe you are really scum. Only one way to find out. But i'm not yet prepared to do that.

@SPF I said why I did what I did. I wanted reactions and found the wagon odd. So that's why I didn't stay for long there.
