MaximumBunny: Is it only these 3 games that are affected at the moment or are all previous giveaways (like the witcher or neverwinter nights) included?
We decided to extend the expiration period only for these three titles, since they were the recent ones. If somehow you managed to keep the old codes, I'm afraid they won't be valid anymore. As noted before, we have to keep those expiration dates in accordance with our partners.

Would it be possible to automatically remove expired promo codes from one's library or (even better) give the user an option to remove them manually. There's no use in keeping expired game codes.

I don't believe we have such functionality, but I'll ask :)

Oh, btw The Constructor codes should now be fixed.

Thanks for your replies and all your efforts to fix the problem.
It's also good news that GOG is going to fix the expiration date bug once and for all. By the way, many of us, if not all, didn't even know that it was a bug.

I'd like to suggest one more thing. If possible, make a news post about this problem, so that even users who haven't been following the forum discussions could be informed.

I'm doing a giveaway right now offering older codes of Eador: Genesis, Neverwinter Nights Diamond and Dragonsphere, which showed to never expire when I checked them beforehand. Could you please confirm these will still work when I give them out to the winners next week? Giveaway is here and will end on July 10th:

Thanks.

You should be ok with these codes for the giveaway. Just make sure to let the winners know they should redeem the codes by July 17th.

Are you expiring all unredeemed codes for all free giveaways on the 17th? Yikes - shouldn't this be front page news or something?

That's a relief, thanks a bunch! Will let them know for sure.

I was thinking it was about the three affected games only, but after reading the posts again I'm not sure anymore!
Clarification is needed.
Now all we need is the notifications to work. I've given codes for Mount and Blade and Constructor to two people on this forum, but due to the Chat notification being broken they don't know I've sent them a message and now I just have to hope they'll check their chat within the next two weeks or I'll be stuck with unclaimed unredeemable codes.
Just FYI, everyone, my Eador: Genesis code says it expires on the 16th.

The problem with that would be that, if they expire or get invalidated early (and expiring when they were stated to expire "never" would count as expiring early :P ), one might not realize what had happened until it was far too late to contact Support about it.
I'd be fine with the addition of an option for users to delete unredeemed free (but not purchased) codes from the "Orders" list without having to go through Support, but having codes autodelete upon expiration by default would be a bad idea.

Did anyone else ran into problems with the Constructor code? According to the above post by elcook it should be functioning but the one I gave it too says the code gets the message "has already been used" yet it shows up as NOT YET REDEEMED in my order history and AFAIK it isn't used yet.

I already filed a support ticket, just wanted to know if it's just me running into this error or if it's more general for people with unused Constructor codes?

When you initially checked the code's validity on the redeem page, did you click cancel afterwards? Apparently codes can get locked temporarily if you don't.
*edit: I have been ninja'd by GOG support. They were very quick to reply, told me it's probably a system bug and provided me with a fresh code that I have just given away.

I have failed to notice chat notification being broken.
As far as I can see, I have gotten notifications recently.
Possibly missing notifications is noticeable with large volumes of chat, and/or related to user-side software?
