GOG is rendering gift keys, which have a never expire limit as expired. I don't know if there is already a thread about this subject, which I cannot find.

Until now Fantasy General and Mount and Blade keys have been invalidated without notice. We haven't even had the chance to share the keys publicly.

If the original expiration date of never was wrong, it was not an end users' fault. We should at least have been notified for the change on time, so that we had a chance to gift or share our codes.

From the last Summer Sale thread:
NOTE: Make sure to redeem your Rebel Galaxy and American Nightmare copies right away - the codes will expire on June 27, 21:59 UTC.

Fantasy General is not listed.

Some users have already contacted GOG support about this subject.

The good news have no end here. A new low for GOG has been reached.

EDIT: Constructor key has been invalidated too as reported by <span class="bold">Klumpen0815</span>

The Fantasy General codes expired (i.e.: were invalidated) a couple days ago (or mine did, at least). They didn't even last till the deadline for the other codes.

Thanks for the info.

I remember that keys for both games stated that they will never expire.
I checked them about an hour ago and they both have expired. I don't know the exact date GOG has invalidated them. It could have been days since that happened.
My free Eador: Genesis code expired too. I don't know if it was supposed to expire though.

You're talking about promo codes, not bought gift codes. Stop spreading bullshit.

I can confirm this. Because I always check the code I got from GOG.
Now my codes also expired. (Fantasy General / Mount & Blade)

UPDATE: Fix typo

It's about gift keys sent to users who already own the games given for free.
I refer to their expiration date though. It doesn't really matter what kind of keys they are. If you get a key, check its expiration date and it's never, then it should not be invalidated without notice.

Promo codes always expire.

Hi, it's not a general rule.
Older promo codes never expire. Newer ones, in some cases have a set expiration date, while others never expire.

Hickory: Promo codes always expire.
Back in the old days, GOG had two different kind of codes, gift codes and bonus codes (you redeemed them at different pages as well). Biggest differences between them were that gift codes could be partially redeemed, while bonus codes could not and that bonus codes had an expiration date, while gift codes did not. Their format was different as well (gift codes were 16 characters, bonus codes were 13 or so).
Hell, I still have some 2014 promo codes that still work, because they were generated as gift codes, not bonus codes.
This isn't the first time GOG has invalidated gift codes (see the Fallout giveaway in the end of 2013), but gift codes are not invalidated all that often.

and Constructor, it had a "never" expiration date as well and was only valid for a week or so.
An email I received on the 17-06-2017, clearly stated the following for 3 free games .

The codes for the free games expire on June 27, 10 PM UTC.

They were - Fantasy General, Rebel Galaxy, Alan Wake's American Nightmare

P.S. And further to that, as I recall it, I never got a code for Fantasy General, it just appeared in my library, and going back through my emails confirms this. Fantasy General of all the recent freebies for the sales, is the only one I never got a code for, and I well remember that as being different to the usual practice.

And I remember seeing Fantasy General listed as a freebie on my cart checkout, at the bottom, as a banner.

Just checked my emails, spam included. I have never received any such notification.

Probably it's a promotion email (I have opted out for those, as they have not been working correctly) and not a notification about the codes. The original email for the gift code has no expiration date info.

It has been common practice for GOG to add free games directly to users' accounts, if they haven't already owned the games and send a gift code to the previous owners.

I have just been back through all my saved web pages as well, and while I have a saved copy of the Reclaim pages for the other freebie games, there is not one for Fantasy General, so that also confirms what I remember, that I never had to reclaim it, it just appeared in my library after one of my purchases ... I made several.
