2. For remaining GOG game INSTALLATIONS
Find the game in the Library (click on the image of the game), then click the More button and select "Manage Installation" -> "Import folder" and point the folder selector into the folder where that game is installed.

jae: Thing is, I want this piss-poor "notify you incessantly, without stopping, by blinking the task bar, when something on your Wishlist goes on sale" turned OFF. Apparently you can't, you can only turn of sound, but not the notification in general. Which sucks.
False.
Go under settings > notifications and insted on the other options click on the line. It means "none", so no notifications will be sent via Galaxy.
Note: You will still get email notifications if you're suscribed to them.

Overlay means that you will get a notification ingame if the game supports Galaxy overlay.
Desktop means only in the aplication (Galaxy) itself (also in the task bar, if Galaxy is minimized).
The combination option is self explainatory.

You can turn off the sound by selecting the line (under "sound") too, or you can just adjust the volume with the slider.

powergod: Before installing Galaxy the game wasn't even able to connect to techlan servers, and the first thing I was seeing after starting the game was "offline", now I can set it still as single player, but it is always connected to their server from the start (even if multiplayer is disabled)... and I can't find options in the game itself for disable this... so, I just want to make Galaxy to act as before it was installed... to make games totally unable to go online
avatar
BKGaming: Oh a lot of games are like this. If there is a connection it will connect to the games servers even in single player, but will work fine without it. There isn't in setting really to stop this.

Only thing I know to do is block the connection with a firewall, which I don't really recommend or play without Galaxy or play without an internet connection active. Galaxy will launch offline, but not all features will work.
Ok, found my answer to play totally offline again, there are 2 services added by Galaxy, these will be started automatically by the game, but not if you disable them.

sc config GalaxyClientService start=disabled
sc config GalaxyCommunication start=disabled

Those 2 should already be stopped if Galaxy is closed, but if them are not you can stop them like this:

sc stop GalaxyClientService
sc stop GalaxyCommunication

Just a thing to be noted, when you'll start Galaxy again, it will notice the change of the start settings and will correct it... so you'll have to disable them again every time you close Galaxy.

Yea that was also an option, but again not something I would recommend for most users. These services are meant to run and by not running them you may or may not experience side effects if using Galaxy with them disabled.

POLE7645: I'm starting to think my copy of GOG Galaxy is a bit of a mess. Are those bugs common or known? And is there a way I can contribute to them being solved?
All these issues seem related to some kind of connection issue. Like you are losing the connection to GOG. I would get your Galaxy logs, zip them and send a support request with the logs attached.

OK. But first, where do I get my logs. And, what kind of problem should these wualify as? Because there are more than one choice that would apply (or maybe I should send a support ticket for each bug I've detailed)?

Logs can be found at:

Windows - C:\ProgramData\GOG.com\Galaxy\logs
(You have to make hidden and system folders visible in order to get to these files. See: https://www.howtogeek.com/howto/windows-vista/show-hidden-files-and-folders-in-windows-vista/)
Mac - /Users/Shared/GOG.com/Galaxy/Logs

I would only send one report, just pick installation issues since they seems to be the bulk of your issue but make it clear your having issues with nearly anything that requires being connected to GOG. Make sure you tell them you are getting timeouts and server errors constantly.

Venom: 1.2.45 (11 July, 2018)
Now 2 months without an update? Unusual, hopefully means a big update is coming.
Does anyone know if GOG Galaxy is built on top of Electron?

Considering that they have told us basically work has increased on it, doubtfull.

EDIT:

By the way GOG, the smaller compeition is pumping out a new and improved client: https://www.gamingonlinux.com/articles/game-store-itch-releases-a-brand-new-client-plus-a-small-interview.12538

All while being open source & on Linux.

It's built on Chromium Embedded Framework with some different libraries on top. You can see the included licences by going to your Galaxy folder -> licences.

I'd wager anything with a pulse has been moved over to getting Cyperpunk 2077 out the door
rly dont understand how this ****** work.. i instal GoG to try gwent. there was a gift (witcher enchanted edition) and i can't download it.. probably because i dont have money i wallet.. but that ***** is writen like free in shopping cart .. so GoG give me free game and i cant use itt because i dont pay it.. ... and worst thing ... i have witcher 3 on GoG... and cant use free DLC program.. probably same problem.. trust me no more money for GoG from my side

CDPR and GOG are separate teams so I doubt Cyberpunk would have any impact on what GOG is doing. The only overlap may be with online infrastructure which GOG will probably handle as they did with Gwent, but seeing as most of that work was done with Gwent already, it shouldn't be as much of a time investment from GOG.
Where are the free games, if any?

Poor me...
