2. For remaining GOG game INSTALLATIONS
Find the game in the Library (click on the image of the game), then click the More button and select "Manage Installation" -> "Import folder" and point the folder selector into the folder where that game is installed.

Hey,

we have released GOG Galaxy version 1.2.44.

The release is aimed to fix problems with installations and crash when GOG Galaxy is started by game's desktop shortcut.
Hi,

This is for other users that might be experiencing the same problem.

GOG Galaxy no longer updating, it just took 15 minutes for it to start. I am on version 1.2.43.64. I submitted a support request describing the problem.

If you have having this problem you are not alone.

I'm going to manually update it by downloading it. Auto update just isn't working with older versions of the client.

Regards
Download from the site:
Yeah new update is downloading at 9.6KB/s.

Download from the client:
Can't open client as it is stuck updating 20.2% :/

It seems like overlay (1.2.26.44) stopped working for me with 1.2.44.30 update. I'm getting 'Failed waiting for process initialization of '%ALLUSERSPROFILE%\GOG.com\Galaxy\redists\overlay\GalaxyOverlay.exe', error code: 0.' and 'Failed to connect to game pipe with error code: 2' in my logs. So far checked with Far Cry 2 and Fallout 3. Not sure if I'm the only one affected.

I tried Fallout 3 and it worked for me... so seems to not be impacting everyone.

Thanks BKGaming!
Will clear up my logs then and try to find out what happened. Overlay worked with Fallout 3 just a few days ago.

update:
Fallout 3 works fine now. There was a conflict with 3rd party software I used to grab screenshots since Far Cry 2 overlay didn't work for me.
Far Cry 2 overlay works as well. The game was installed with offline installer and imported to Galaxy. It seems like "overlaySupported": true, was missing in goggame-1207659042.info
Nothing to see here, please move on ; )

Just a a heads up - everything still working fine here (beta channel).
On my mac (os 10.12.6 (16G1314)) with galaxy (1.2.44 (30)) i'm having issues installing any game.

When i click install game, from my library, the icon appears in my games list. Then the game starts downloading, but it never gets past getting the file list. After a few minutes, it just fails.

If i download the offline installer, Install, restart galaxy and tell it to detect games, it picks it up. It then downloads what is presumably the galaxy overlay adapter and all is well.

This has got me really confused, is there anywhere to look for a more precise error message than "Download Failed"?

By the by, the mac offline installers as for a random path in the middle of installation. It could be made much more apparent that this is where the game is being installed by asking that upfront, with a helpfull where do we install the game too?

RichardSch: where do you get game hints. in the old days sierra had a hint board you could dial up
Um, Google?

It's not just for looking up pictures of Lexi Belle. ;)

Nguy_n___c_H_nh: Updated Galaxy to 1.2.7, but Witcher 3 isn't running any more.
witcher3 exe appears in the task manager, using one cpu core and ram usage is rising and rising. Game doesn't start
That's...a rather old version of Galaxy. Can you update it to 1.2.44?

As for Witcher 3, please make sure you are running the latest drivers for your graphics card.

Installed Firewatch and decided to install and give the GOG Galaxy a try...BIG mistake!

I sincerely HATE the GOG Galaxy!
I takes FOREVER to update.
And when GOG Galaxy finallay updates, it takes FOREVER to update a game.

After waiting for an eternity trying to get the updating of Firewatch to start I decided to quit the updating.
Then I tried to start it again...but how?
Under the dropdown MORE where it should be for easy acess, do I find it there?
Of course NOT!
Nowhere is to find a very easy "update" button, not as far as I can see.

GOG, has your developers any education in UI and how users react and act?
Is it extremely difficult for them to make a "Update" button on the page????

GOG Galaxy is IMO unfriendliness, bad designed and shoud have stayed as an idea on the sketchboard in GOG and never ever been released!
At least as it works today!

It seems GOG has become just like Uplay, Origin and Steam - the megalomanic desire to make an own galaxy, just as it named the service!

Well, at least their services WORK!!!

Thank you for sharing your story with us MaxPayn!

You will find game version and possible updates right about the MORE button.

Galaxy isn't perfect by any means, but this doesn't match up. A lot of people use it everyday with minimal issues, including me. Now Galaxy does have some bugs that are minor and they are mostly just annoying for the most part not client breaking.

I keep hoping GOG will put a bigger priority in getting these long standing issues fixed, and even doing a bug bash to squash them, but it is what it is.

Between the slow fixes and long drawn out major updates (hello 1.3 where are you?) I can understand the frustration. For sure a lot of us would like to see more progress.

GOG's inability to communicate with us on these issues is also frustrating, we need more and deserve more info on Galaxy but again it is what it is. We can only hope they at some point realize this doesn't help to create a better service.

We are preparing something very special for you all, and we're working hard on Galaxy Client now. :) Works didn't slow down - just the opposite. We will not share details about changes that are incoming, though.
