Please use: http://mantis.gog.com and include
1. steps to reproduce the bug (if possible)
2. screenshot or movie showing the bug (if possible)
3. Galaxy Client logs (see below)

Where can I find Galaxy logs on my computer?
On Windows 7 or later: C:\ProgramData\GOG.com\Galaxy\Logs
On Mac OS X: /Users/Shared/GOG.com/Galaxy/Logs

== FEATURE SUGGESTIONS ==

Please use: http://www.gog.com/wishlist/galaxy. For feature suggestions and votes on them please try do explain how Galaxy and its users will really benefit from it.

== IMPORT ALREADY INSTALLED GAMES TO GALAXY ==

1. For GOG games installed using installers from the last few months (so called Galaxy-compatible installers)
Click the Galaxy logo button on top of the sidebar and select "scan and import folders" - it will find all compatible games within that folder and add them to the Client.

2. For remaining GOG game INSTALLATIONS
Find the game in the Library (click on the image of the game), then click the More button and select "Manage Installation" -> "Import folder" and point the folder selector into the folder where that game is installed.

== KNOWN ISSUES ==
- throttling max download speed is not yet possible
- notifications related to incoming chat messages and friend requests does not always disappear instantly when consumed and may require reloading Store page
- games imported from existing installations will auto-update once, even if updating is disabled
- Moving Galaxy from /Applications on Mac OS X will stop the app from working
- Galaxy cannot be launched by other users on the same computer

For everyone who has a problem with missing api-ms-crt dlls in Client's versions post 1.1.5:
Please install one of those windows update: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2999226 https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/3118401
You may need to update Windows to meet the requirements for these:
For Windows 8.1 and for Windows Server 2012: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2919355
For Windows 7 and for Windows Server 2008 R2: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/976932

You can also try reinstalling Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributables 2015 (x86) if you meet above requirements.
Available here: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=48145

If above instructions doesn't work for you, create a separate issue on mantis.gog.com and we'll try to help you individually.

Please note that this solution only helps with the missing api-ms-crt dlls.

========================================================================================

Answering this question: Why 1.1 doesn't work after updating to 1.2?

This is happening probably due to incompatible database from version 1.2, please delete this folder:
%ALLUSERSPROFILE%\GOG.com\Galaxy\storage
usually
C:\ProgramData\GOG.com\storage\

Then you'll have to use scan&import (menu under the top Galaxy logo) function to see your games back in Galaxy Client.

All I´m saying is that demanding a feature like the personal Backup functionality, that is already available in some form, isn´t exactly the best idea when somebody is code crunching to finally get out of beta.

As for your personal problem..

skeletonbow: As an example for those who are completely unaffected by this problem to try to understand one single way in which it is a problem for people such as myself, is that I have several disks in my computer.

C: -> a very small 120GB SSD drive for the operating system and nothing else.
E: -> a 2TB hard disk where most of my applications and games are installed to
F: -> a 2 TB hard disk where all of my downloads, archives, backups and other large size files are stored
I´m very partial to it as I´m prety much in the same boat.
Even worse actually, as I´m stuck with just one 512GB 2ndary drive and use my BR burner to archive.
Only difference is, I install on my SSD and use Junctions to constantly shuffle the games that aren´t my favorites over to the HD.
A couple of favorite games stay on my SSD, can´t imagine playing a game from my HD again.
You´re really wasting a perfectly good SSD there, buddy. Win7 doesn´t need nowhere close to that much space.

The handy tool I use for this: http://schinagl.priv.at/nt/hardlinkshellext/hardlinkshellext.html
Powerfull and a bit complicated, but all you really need from it is the Junction functionality.

Powerfull and a bit complicated, but all you really need from it is the Junction functionality.
My SSD drive is only 120GB and already is loaded with all it can hold, however I have been using LinkShellExtension for 4 years now also to create junction points in Windows to relocate various things apps put on C: to a mirrored directory structure on E:, which has both saved a fair bit of space on the SSD and also reduced wear and tear by programs that unnecessarily use C: for things even if you tell them to install elsewhere. It's a life saver.

Out of the box on a fresh OS install of Windows 7 the OS used up 70GB of my new SSD drive which just about made me fall on the floor. I did a bit of sleuthing at the time to discover that by default Windows creates a swap file on C: that is equal in size to the amount of installed RAM. Since my system has 32GB of RAM, that gobbled up and wasted 32GB of swap on the SSD. I moved swap from the SSD to the HDD and reduced the size of it to what was necessary for my usage, freeing up 32GB of wasted space.

Next, Windows enables hibernation by default, which also creates a file in C:\ just slightly less than the amount of RAM installed. In my case it was about 28GB in size. That feature got disabled completely as I have no use for it and the file can not be moved or reconfigured, just disabled.

Junction points have helped to keep things off of the SSD drive, but for my purposes 120GB is just far far too small. The majority of my applications and all of my games are installed on the hard disk, so they don't even benefit from SSD performance.

Planning on buying a ~= 500GB SSD drive sometime this year to gut the system and re-provision everything to better use.
Got to say, liking the change to game titles. CAPS was a little hard on the eyes.
Linux versión, please
Haven't read the thread so I don't know if this has been suggested already, but can there be an option to disable smooth scrolling in GoG Galaxy? I'd much prefer to not have it enabled but I don't see any sort of option to disable it at the moment.

Yes, the games ARE NOT SHOUTING AT US ANY MORE. Looks much nicer now. :)

I wonder if we will get the missing features shown in the Galaxy pics on the Galaxy page before beta is over? If you look closely at the pictures they show features like improved status messages (such as an away status and for how long, as well as how long someone has been offline) on the friends list and friends activity sections. They also show a join button in the friends list for joining friends in-game, haven't seen this so I assume it not currently added. There is also down arrows on STORE / LIBRARY which are not currently added. The friends list is also designed slightly differently than the current version.

We must be on a version that is slightly behind the version these pics were taken on... Galaxy is slowly but surely coming along quite nicely (other than removing some features from 1.1.x which I hope is fixed).

EDIT: There was also an old pic that showed plans for a "recent players" tab next to friends activity. I wonder why that hasn't been added yet... would make finding people easier that enjoy the games you enjoy.

Speaking of these screenshots, I've been wondering for a long time now what is the game they are discussing in a screenshot right above Community Features. I still have no idea. ;)

Anyway, one thing I'd like to see in Galaxy is the CD-keys of games you own. At the moment you still need to access the website for them, even though Galaxy is advertised as a full alternative. I remember back earlier you couldn't also delete friends from within Galaxy, but now you can, so I guess keys are the only thing remaining.

Just to chime in on the download location...

I have what probably isn't the usual use-case, but I'm having a big problem with it. I have a small internal drive, so I keep games on an SD card. This is fine, I can put up with the slower load-times (which aren't really that slow, the read speed is pretty fast.) The problem is that now the games download to that drive, which has a VERY slow write speed. So basically, as the game downloads it stalls over and over as the disk writing maxes out. It takes an eternity.

In the past I it set up to download to the internal drive and just move it to the SD card-- that was much faster. But now I can't do that. Even if I install the game on the local machine and then move it to the SD card, any updates that trigger will then go at the slow speed because it downloads into the game folder.

I'm at a loss of what to do.

Yeah, it's very unfortunate that GOG never thought this change out fully before releasing it publicly. At least it is only in preview beta though, giving them an opportunity to fix it before the bad change is rolled out to all users. I suspect a lot of people are going to get bit by this due to having their game installation location being their smaller SSD drive or a hard disk that is close to full, yet still wanting to download backups of their games. There isn't even an easy way to work around the problem hackishly at the operating system level using junction points or similar.

Sadly, like myself and many others you're stuck either using the GOG Downloader, the web browser, a browser downloader addon, gogrepo.py or similar until they fix the problem or a 3rd party reverse engineers the rest of the Galaxy API and are able to provide a better downloader client. :o(

Does it fix the "failed to sync [game title]" when a save file is overwritten locally?
