It seems that you're using an outdated browser. Some things may not work as they should (or don't work at all).
We suggest you upgrade newer and better browser like: Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer or Opera

Version 32 and 33? Wow... I'd still be happy with version 9...

Yea I do kinda miss the old days of simple lightweight browsers, I really liked the early versions of FF, you can still download them from the Mozilla archive, I believe it goes back as far as version 0.8, though they're pretty broken when it comes to HTML5

I'm using Opera 25 now since Chrome also became a resource-hungry program. It's very fast and it uses the same rendering engine (BLiNK) so no incompatibilities.

Screw HTML 5. I'm happy with regular html...

Actually if you want a really lightweight browser, use lynx... all text... :) I actually remember really enjoying it, but had issues with cookies a while back and geocities... and search engines because of it. But beyond that you wouldn't get anything for ads since they are all images and flash...

From a coding perspective I quite like HTML5, it has a lot more flexibility with what you can do with it and I personally would like to see completely overthrow flash as a much more smaller faster equivalent with more potential :)

Yea lynx is really good, havnt used it in a year or so now right enough but its does let you just get on with what you need to do without all the distractions.

Distractions... Ads, high bandwidth usage, flash, javascript, other intermediate levels that you just don't need...

I'm heavily annoyed at sites where you visit them and then first thing they throw at you is you HAVE to have flash, and it's this big advertisement or slide show of some features they are offering or showing off... Quite annoying...

I haven't looked at HTML since 4 so i'm not sure of some of the new features (or what they could add)... Considering HTML is intended as a formatting/display language, why they add extra features that you can't transfer to the printed page i don't know...

I occassionally encounter the same problem as OP. And it started happening on other sites, too.
A possible solution seems to be to turn off the hardware acceleration, google for firefox black screen. (It seems that I'm unable to post the link to related Mozilla support page.)

I have turned mine off but can't report yet whether it really helped.
