It seems that you're using an outdated browser. Some things may not work as they should (or don't work at all).

Personally I think a link to the games is probably enough, or a brief description if needed. Those who are interested will chase them up. I am new to the forums though, so if they are part of the culture maybe highlight them more.

I've seen some confusion as to the 30 day warranty (read something about it bring void if you downloaded the game. .. huh?) and maybe addressing or linking to one of the threads on sharing games with friends (maybe that it's a grey area and widely debated, but here's one stance - to try and avoid further debate actually in this thread). Ideally quoted from blue text. A link to the community wishlist is probably worth it too. Usual sales times maybe? GOG head quarters time zone? Do developers themselves frequent the forums?

Plus, irrelevant but curious, why is the text on some posts larger on Android than others? Is it an uprated comment?

Edit: ideas on shortening quotes and double quotes, and a sensible number of recursive quotes as a guide not enforced. (Seen a couple of full recaps to say "thanks for the post" etc)

Getcomposted: Finished Giveaways section.

I want to add a bit about the stars on the Reputation section. Anybody know the exact number of rep you need per star?

As per suggestions listed above, I'm also going to add a section on:

Forum Settings
How to replace your avatar and change sub heading.
How to mark a thread as a question and the difference between a question thread and a normal one.
A note about the finite length of posts. -- Anyone also know how long a post can be? --- 9000 characters.
Note that when replying to a post, you can snip long posts, and if you have more than one person linked in a reply post, only one or neither will get a notification.

As per cecil's questions
1. How do the stars work? it looks like you have 2 --- Stars will be in the Rep part as soon as I know myself!
[To Add: 25 for 1 star, 150 for 2 stars, 450 for 3 stars, 1000 for 4 stars and 2500 for 5 stars.]

2. What forum level counts as "seasoned" for trading purposes? --- Also to be added in the Trading section.

3. I have only traded for games twice but I do GAs in the open this thread thread almost daily does that can that help with my credability in lieu of a lot of trading? --- Trading, but my own opinion says about 30+? That gives you at least a month of interaction in the forums.

4. Is there an average "conversion rate" between steam and GOG games when it comes to trade? --- Again, Trading section.

5. Why do some people say must be Gift Link for trading? --- Uh....

6. Do you know of any Mac oriented trading threads or topics? --- Help?

Should I also add:
Long-running GOG Forum game links? -- Opinions on this, or should I just add a link to the stickies thread?

LINUX!!! Links to useful threads and posts for Linux users.

GOG Jargon? Our own acronyms - GA, MAHAYO, blues, etc.

Again, suggestions and opinions, please. What have you seen new people ask? What did you want to know back in the day?
Just want to publicly state BIG thank you to getcomposted for all your help :)
A great idea for a thread! Helping people is the GOG forums way. Maybe some info could be added on how buying, downloading, installing and updating games works here?
+1 for Getcomposted for a useful thread. It should be added at the top of the forum, imo.

Agreed Getcomposted should see if it can become " Officially GOG Certified" somehow. :)
Thank you very much for this awesome and helpful thread. It really helped me and I know where to go if I'm lost.
Useful thread. Thanks a lot and +1. :)

Nice post that I never saw back in the day. Thanks Getcomposted!

Note: As of today, mrmario has created a second scammers thread that might be useful to link to in the OP. (Maybe keep an eye on it for a few days to see if it takes...)
