I originally came up with some observations and comments about the whole Vitek / nmillar situation, but that certainly doesn't apply now so I'll drop it.

I also looked into some odd behaviours from day 1. Now... forgetting about Damuna, One person whom I found to be strange was xzyem. He hasn't posted much, but he hasn't really contributed much to the mess even when he had posted and didn't draw much attention. I mean, I don't believe he commented on Damuna at all despite all the commotion around her this entire time. Also I found his personality shift to be quite odd, since it was a pretty big change after writing so many 'being confused' posts.

Another thing is his post here:
Now, I may be over-thinking things or maybe I'm biased because I know the rules already, but his character description would clearly state whether he's a mafia and that the win condition is to kill all the townies, or that he's a town player and must take out all the anti-town people. Just seems kind of weird.

In #707, he wrote a bit trying to prod Detlik's role out of him. Wouldn't this information be way more valuable to the mafia since it would help them better prioritize their victims?

In #739, he pushed for a modkill. I'm thinking if he knows who the townies are, then he'd know that regardless of which of the two (Damuna or Penut aka... me...) gets the axe it wouldn't matter because the mafia is safe (you'd have to assume I'm town though, so I can see this not being a very strong argument right now). If he were a townie, he's making a strong assumption that one of Damuna or I am a mafia - a dangerous assumption to make, especially since he's not made many calls/assumptions so far and staying pretty low key.

I guess for that reason + the stuff between him and Vitek (#740-#770-ish), SPF is also not sitting right with me right now. As for the rest... I just don't really know, there hasn't been too much in this game so far I don't think.

I think you just stumbled onto something there.

In light of the revelation that we may be dealing with more than 1 group of mafia, it sounds to me like xyzem's post means something than it did before. Is it possible that he was informed that he was mafia and that there was another group of mafia? And, being new to the game, took that to mean *everyone* was mafia?

I'm not convinced it is enough to hang him, but it is the best we have so far, so for now Vote Xzyem.
I am a little concerned that after such a dragged out & uneventful day 1, we may rush to a premature lynch day 2....

Better point this out before someone else does... I jokingly said lynching Vitek would kill the thread in #759. I'm wondering if the mafia had the same idea / were intending to use this comment against me...

GoJays makes a fair point. Xzyem's sudden change in attitude is kind of odd, but that early post of his that GoJays quoted is particularly weird when taken in the context of his later personality shift. Is it possible that he knew what he was doing and was trying to get in a "seems accidental newbie mistake" town claim?

The way I interpreted it when he originally posted it was "I thought we were all supposed to be mafias (but my PM says I'm not)". I thought he was surprised to discover he wasn't mafia rather than surprised to discover that others weren't mafia.

But now I reread it, it seems suspiciously like a "sorry guys, I didn't know I was supposed to reveal that" calculated town claim. ¬_¬

As for xzyem, well I like your line of thinking and I can most definitely see what you mean. He has however also given a somewhat explanation of the turn. (That he been doing his mafia homework). So I rather like to hear from him instead of jumping on the gun on this one, which some seem to accept more willingly than I would - and oddly enough also without voting on it. (Also I see another thing which NFY posted as part of her case against me, although this time its even more blatant - I guess NFY and others can see who I am referring to).

NFY: I don't really think thats likely - would be a very very unlikely scenario. The comment was made in an obvious comic connection and seeing the thread at that time makes perfect sense.

Well, I had him pretty much down as leaning town solely due to that one. So I can see what you mean that it could be switched around.

Of course I forgot the brain in my post.

Hadn't noticed that one - So brain matter has so far been mentioned every time someone is killed with their own object. Not sure I can see what kind of connection with anything it makes - A guy using the old canibal thinking of eating your fallen enemies brain to steal their strength? Nah, sound unlikely - but nice spot.

Newbie question: why is everyone making such a big deal out of the kill scenes? How would the kill scenes influence our ability to actually find the mafia?

Honestly, speaking from my very limited experience, I have no idea. It seems like a rather pointless thing to be spending time looking at.
