It seems that you're using an outdated browser. Some things may not work as they should (or don't work at all).
We suggest you upgrade newer and better browser like: Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer or Opera

Last time the site went down (for the end of beta) we gave our users a free game. While we're not going to claim that this will always happen, it's true that we have another one for you guys today. But before we go into that, let's tell you about the exciting new features that we've added to GOG.com:

As announced during our presentation on CD Projekt Days Spring Conference, the update adds two highly requested by users improvements: a new downloader application and personal messages. The new downloader has been made from scratch by GOG.com developers and features multithreaded downloads for performance, automatic error checking and runs only when user is downloading something from GOG.com. The downloader is not a client application and is optional to use, although recommended for downloading big games, like i.e. The Witcher 2.

Personal Messaging, the second biggest feature of the Spring Update, is a combination of instant and private messaging. The system will have fully configurable privacy settings and just like the downloader is completely optional. Aside of those two changes, the team has introduced many various improvements to make the user experience even better - those include improved checkout system, update to work flawlessly on newest browsers and easier to use coupon system.

Finally, as the cherry on top for the Spring Update Sundae (man, we could really go for some ice cream), the we released Dragonsphere, free to all users. The game is an adventure point-and-click title by famous MicroProse and features excellent story, clever puzzles and simple yet appealing graphics. “It’s easy to lose yourself in this fresh, engaging game” according to PC Gamer. This adds to our already existing catalog of free titles, bringing the total up to five.

Have fun with the new features and enjoy your new free game (in a little bit)!

GOG.com: As announced during our presentation on CD Projekt Days Spring Conference, the update adds two highly requested by users improvements: a new downloader application and personal messages.
The private message system is great. I love the way you can tug the notification flag and see who sent you messages.

The downloader looks pretty, and I look forward to using it, but at the moment it doesn't seem to let me log in. No matter how many times I enter my email address and password the "login required" dialog keeps reappearing.
Odd -- old downloader no longer recognizes my email/PW combo. And I find no link on GoG to directly DL the new version.

I'm effectively locked out of GoG! OH NOOOOOOO! Life is ending ....

Any suggestions?
It is not possible to delete a conversation in the PM interface. "Clear messages" option only clears the content but the conversation remains. This will be very annoying when you gather a lot of conversations.
Great new, free game added to GOG.com == very good.

New downloader added to GOG.com == very, very good.

New PM / IM system added to GOG.com == bloody fantastic.

*does happy dance*

Try downloading a game. It's there right beneath the download link (click "add to GOG.com Downloader")

Go to your account and click on a game to bring up your downloadables. There is a little question mark beside the GOG DL. Just click on that and your on your way. Also, GameRager put up a link to it earlier on this page.

Your the best GameRager!! Thanks for the help!!!

Destro: This is pretty weird - I've downloaded the file via IE8, clean Win7 install without even single other app installed, and still received the error message as mentioned... however when downloading the same ZIP file from the very same address via Chrome, Firefox or any other browser, it's perfectly fine and can be unzipped without any problem.

There's something very fishy going on with the IE - we'll try to figure it out tomorrow morning. And in the meantime please use other browser to grab the downloader ZIP file...
I, too, was using IE8. Time to upgrade to IE9.

Thanks a lot mate!
I am not able to download anything through the new downloader. I've tried on both firefox 4 & chrome 11.
If I launch the downloader, I can log in, but nothing ever comes up.
running Win XP SP3
GOG - thanks for the new downloader. Once I figured out that I needed to download it separately and install it, its working great! The meanfinful improvement of checking the files for problems is great plus the fact that you can reorder your downloads is icing on the cake. Its no longer clunky and horrible; which the old one was. FYI I am using firefox 3.6.17.

Couple of observations - with firefox 4.0.1 (on xp-32) the popup telling you where to find the downloader pops up fine; with firefox 3.6.17 (on vista-64) the popup did not happen. I had to go to your help page

Thanks for the updates and the free game.

How about adding just a 'block' rather than 'Block and Report' and an 'ignore forum posts' would be nice.
Thanks guys!

It seems a quick FAQ post about how to get the downloader might be a good addition to the recent PM FAQ post . . . it took me a bit to think of checking the "add to downloader" link for a link to the program itself.

(Note to anyone who clicked through that and checked the "skip this" box - the little circled "?" on the downloader button will re-pop the info and download popup for ya.)

. . .
+1

Sometimes you don't want to hear any more from someone, but they've not done anything wrong or reportable . . . even if there's a "no action" option on the report form, the title sounds worryingly severe!
