The biggest announcement in GOG.com's history is a fact! Electronic Arts grants access to its deep back catalogue of classic franchises via yours truly GOG.com!

In a ground-breaking, earthshaking, and jaw-dropping deal we've managed to sign with EA and will be releasing more than 25 legendary classics from the globally renowned publisher. With today’s announcement three widely known and much awaited brands get the revival treatment from GOG.com: Wing Commander: Privateer, Dungeon Keeper and Ultima Underworld 1+2.

We will be adding more than 25 titles from EA over the next few months, so the games will be unveiled gradually, but we can already reveal that the next upcoming titles from this huge deal are: Crusader: No remorse, Sid Meier's Alpha Centauri and Magic Carpet.

While the agreement between Electronic Arts and GOG.com brings back many acclaimed and well known franchises, it doesn’t include the much anticipated System Shock or Syndicate series at this time. After releasing the first six Electronic Arts classics, we will take a break from the concentrated awesome until later in the summer.
I never thought I'd see it. Now that I have I still have trouble believing it. It is great to see.

Welcome EA.

Thanks GOG for your tireless work.

DeadlyRamon: I don't care if the EULA consists of the Communist Manifesto, a transcript of an Obama speech, or Justin Bieber lyrics: I'm not reading it, I'm only interested in the game. I could not care less about the content of the EULA.
And that is, as far as I am concerned, un-questionably and without any doubt ofcourse also YOUR PREROGATIVE !!! (as long as your actions, with respect to the game in question, are within said EULA !!!)
(However companies may want you to actually both read and accept their EULA before installing a piece of their software)

FiatLux: Sounds to me like you are dyslexic or something.....
I never just complained over "the fact that EA games have their own EULA" , it were the CONTENT of said EULA that I found were problematic , but if you are dyslexic then you probably will not understand the difference.
Your comments "whiny posts" , "hilarious" & "shut up" I can only interpret as you "flaming" which I think is highly in-appropriate for this thread/forum !!! (but if you keep it up you may get me "on the bandwagon too" !!!)

keeveek: What is the difference? Because if you don't like the content of the EULA means you don't like that EULA itself.

What still makes - DON'T BUY IT AND SHUT UP ALREADY. :-)
or :
Why DON'T you BUY IT AND SHUT UP ALREADY. :-)

keeveek: That whiny posts are so hilarious.

One thing from me - don't like the fact EA games have their own EULA? Don't buy them and shut up.
And you as well as others here are in what capacity to tell Free Men on an open forum to "shut up" Nothing is the answer. So if you don't like whats being said don't post about it go your merry way but I see you like to start stuff that you have no clue what you are talking about so the first childish thing comes to mind shut up...

These forums need administrated for bad language and insults and start banning people who cant get along without telling people to shut up or using cuss words. We have a right to our opinion and we are not telling you to shut up because you have no clue of what can happen with that fine print if a law suite was brought out against any infraction of that EULA and Yes EA would be the one's to file such suite just to be jerk that they are.
Will there be Crusader: no regret as well? Please please please as the first one I have once ended ant I will again after I get it from GOG but please give me a sequel :)
You know, as badly as I want the System Shock games to be available here I have to admit I'm very happy that the folks at GOG came right out and said it won't be available currently. It proves that unlike a lot of companies they don't want to create a kneejerk reaction from customers down the line when they've released a bunch of EA titles and the SS games haven't shown up yet. I'll be very pleased when\if they do come here, but it helps to not sit here in antsiness wondering why they haven't been released yet with all the EA titles coming down the pipe. So thank you GOG, for nipping that in the bud. :)

That being said, I really hope they can work out the licensing to get all the Ultima games here. I have to pack for 1-8 and most of them definitely don't play fair with Win7 (some even with DosBox from my last experience, granted I didn't fiddle with the configurations at all either). Either way, this is wonderful news and I'll be very pleased to grab Alpha Centauri when it comes here. :D
Yehaw, Alpha centauri is coming.
Awesome! Can't wait for the Crusader games to be released here! :D Ooh, maybe we'll get the Syndicate series, too!

This may account for all the hoopla currently with expansion packs not being in the first initial releases from EA and GOG

Just a thought
Missed this news yesterday. This is incredibly exciting! DK1 is an instant buy for me. DK2 will be as well when it gets here. And I cannot wait for Alpha Centauri.

If you want to be positive, you can try to think that they're planning SystemShock 3 so that's why they're keeping 1/2 under wraps! But you're right in that it's not really worth pondering over much. Negotiations for the IP is probably in some kind of limbo or whatever.

jorlin: About EULA's:
If the EULA contradicts the law of your country it is automatically null and void.
Nevertheless, EULA's are a big nono in my book.

OmegaX: So you don't buy games at all? All games, maybe excep indies, come with an EULA attached. GOG is not an exception.
Seriously. EULA stands for End User License Agreement. That's all it is- a license that the end user agrees to in order to use the software. Some dodgy stuff can be hidden within, but they are not bad in and of themselves. Take a couple of minutes, read it to make sure there's no hidden bombs in there, and enjoy the DRM-free game.
OMG! I just zeroed and oned in my tens! It's a shame that System Shock or Syndicate won't be coming as well... with the other titles, but this is still fantastic news! Way to go GOG! Thank you so much!
Ultima VII Please God :-)
