GOG.com's Agreement with Team 17 ‘Worms Up’ the Cold Days of January.

2012 will be filled with great new things coming to GOG.com, and first up, we’re expanding our catalog with some of the tremendous Team 17's classic titles.

Team 17's offerings on GOG.com start with the most lovable (and lethal) annelids of the gaming world in the unforgettable and quintessential tactical artillery shooter Worms United – a special edition of Worms 1 with the expansion Worms Reinforcements for $5.99. We’re not just giving you one game today, though. You will also want to use some heavy weaponry to fight a different kind of invertebrates--the squicky space alien kind--in Alien Breed and Alien Breed Tower Assault available now for just $5.99 as well.

Today's releases should keep you busy while we bring some more goodness from Team 17 in the next week: Superfrog and World Rally Fever: Born on the Road. We’ll be bringing you more games from their catalog later on this year.

Pick up Worms United and Alien Breed + Alien Breed: Tower Assault for just $5.99 each today on GOG.com!

Zacron: No, I meant contact the current rights holder and ask about certain games.

"Hey Sony, can we sell the games that were made by DMA? We know you own them now, and you don't want us selling other ones, but what about these?"

SirPrimalform: Well now you're making sense, and I agree with you. Sadly I think Sony might be bastards enough not to be open to even the idea of selling the original Lemmings games DRM-free.
True, but I think we should at least try, if GOG hasn't already...
I'd love to see/buy Worms: Armageddon, even though i bought it last year on CD (I lost my previous copy). People acutally still play it as opposed to World Party. At least they did last year :)

Arteveld: Kudos GOG!:)

Though i have to point out that their entire AMIGA catalogue is available free [Dream17 site], so some of their titles for 5'99 may be a stretch. Just saying.;)
True though technically you either need an Amiga to play them, or an emulator with licensed kickstart ROMS which does cost more than 5.99 :)
Really excited that Superfrog is coming! That game is fantastic, and desperately needed a rerelease!
Wait. Team 17 has made games other than Worms?

I am assuming you are kidding around here, but yes, Team 17 has made several amazing games.
Worms Armageddon is the only Team17 game that I care about, but as soon as you guys have it then please take my money.

That's the way I see it as well. If you look at all of the recent releases of Lemmings, they're all on Sony platforms. Sony is very big on exclusivity nowadays. While I'd never completely write anything off, I think we've got about as much of a chance seeing Sony signed up as a GOG publisher as we do of seeing Sony decide that maybe they should port Uncharted over to X-Box. Sony doesn't want to sell a PC user Lemmings. They want to sell a PS3 or a PSP to a PC user so they can play Lemmings.
They already have the gamercards up for the unreleased games, but they're just not purchasable at the moment. I don't remember GOG doing this before, though admittedly my memory of GOG only goes so far back.

My first thought on hearing it was Team 17 was that there's nothing I'm going to want, but AB Tower Assault looks interesting. Hope it's something more exciting next week...

True that! Still, the games themselves are free, which 'deepens' the feeling of "6 bucks is a bit much". Especially when we consider the fact that GOG releases newer titles, at the same price, which may seem the older ones a bit pricey. I guess it's one of the cons of having 2 price points. ;)
Which reminds me i should FINALLY get myself an Amiga.
Really glad to see that Team17 has made it here. I don't play that much, but I always return to the Worms franchise year after year to play it. And I agree, AB Tower Assault definitely looks interesting to me too. should look out for this one as well.

They would do it back when they were in beta.

Also, I'd like to welcome Team17 to glorious GOGland! Bring on the classics!

The wait for Superfrog is reminiscent of the wait for Guilty Gear X2 #Reload. I'm not much of a fan of surprises. Knowing exactly what's scheduled in the near future is much more agonizing. :)
