As mentioned above, Natural Disaster scored a (very undeserved) 2-1 victory against the Misfits.

The match was difficult to play, for a weird reason: I had installed the community mod lately, and didn't test it thoroughly, so I kept struggling with the interface. The arena had grey stone floor, and I constantly overlooked small goblin players and never had a good grasp of the situation on the pitch. I made a lot of stupid tactical errors and was very lucky that Piranjade kept rolling double-1s when she was in a position to profit from them (I think she had four or five double-1s during the match).

Notable events:

- A last-turn 2-1 touchdown scored from almost the other end of the field, using two long runs and a short pass. Elvish high mobility paid off.

- A goblin without blocking skills preventing an otherwise certain touchdown by sending my catcher (who even had dodge) to the ground on a desperate one-die block, then succeeding with picking up the ball and two go-for-its.

- Chargestone Cackle, one of the Misfits' blitzers, clobbered half of the wood elf team, causing two casualties. He also nearly scored a touchdown when he grabbed the ball and just punched any resistance out of the way. My team is considering to develop a "dirty player" just for the next match against him.

- Nerve-wrecking turmoil right in front of my scoring line, with the ball changing possession practically every turn, eventually resulting in the equalizer for the Misfits.

- Both teams were showered with re-rolls. Disaster received three additional re-rolls through kick-off events, the Misfits four. In a cruel twist of fate, these re-rolls turned out to be practically useless for the Misfits.

- Disaster lost their third player. This time, we actually wanted to save him (he was our only kicker, and an elf team needs a kicker), and the apothecary had changed the "dead" result to "badly hurt", but then it didn't take my input, and the player remained dead. When another player got a -1 AG injury, I had already used up my apo. So we're paying a pretty high price for this victory. I need to run a few tests with the interface, I also (again) had two situations in which my players immediately ran to a spot that I hadn't confirmed yet, thereby making planned blitzes impossible.

In any case, we're happy that we're now back in the middle of the league. :)

Here is the replay.

The new apo roll -must be- manually selected. Otherwise the original result stands. You are not the first one to learn that the hard way...

Also as double clicking moves/blitzes you around - have to be careful if you have senstive mouse buttons :)

If you want to perform a blitz, where you first block move only afterwards, click the blitz icon (was it lightning or something) some where on the right side middle of the screen (in middle of lots of other icons...)

Ive lost a draw against michal and missed few td's in season 1 as i accidently either just performed regular block and then wasnt able to move - or just double clicked next to the player i wanted to blitz and then realized i ofcourse couldnt blitz him - as i had neither double clicked him straight, nor pressed the blitz icon before doing the movement.

Additionally, instead of pressing the lightning bolt on the right bar, you can select your player and then press B on your keyboard to make a "standing blitz" as it were, then move after the block is thrown. (if you're able to)

I talked to Psyringe after it happened and he is sure that he had done that.

Another thing: In the future, could you all check if the winnings you receive after a match make sense?
When I lost against Michal I received 70k gold, which should not have been possible for me as the loser..
After his match against Stampede, E_A rolled a 1, decided to re-roll, got a 2 and received 20k when he should have received 30k as he was the winner.
Mefet and I should be playing our match on Saturday around 12:00 our time if everything goes to plan :D.

The winnings are "abit" complicated. As far as i know, BB does not show the dice or FAME anywhere.

http://www.games-workshop.com/MEDIA_CustomProductCatalog/m780049a_Blood_Bowl_Competition_Rules.pdf

page 29:

2. Generate winnings for the match. Each coach rolls a D6 and adds his teams's FAME (see page 18). The team receives this amount x 10 000 gold pieces as winnings for the match. If you won or tied the match you receive and additional 10 000 gold pieces. If you won the match you may also choose to re-roll your D6, but you must accept the second result even if it is worse than the first. Rmemeber that teams that concede a match do not ceive any winnings.

---

page 18. The Fans

a large number of spectators attend every game of Blood Bowl, some to support one team, some to support another. Others just come to enjoy the spectacle. The number of supporting one team compared to the other can have a big effect on the outcome of the game. To determine how many fans turn up to support your team, roll 2D6 and add your Fan Factor to the total. Multiply the score by 1000 to find the number of fans that turned up to support your team. For example the Lowdown Ratz have FF of 5. 2D6 are rolled to see how many fans attend. The dice rolls are 2 and 6. Add in the FF of 5 for total of 13, which means that 13 000 rat fans have turned up for the match.

The number of fans supporting your team can easily affect which team wins or loses. Their cheers can encourage extraordinary effor from your players or a well aimed rock-filled can of Bloodweiser from a fan can forever remove an opposing star. To represent the effect the fans have on a match, each team has a Fan Advantage ModifiEr (abbrevieated to FAME) that can affect some of the results on the Kick-Off table and your winnings in the Post-game. If the roll for the total fans means that your team is being supported by and equal number or fewer fans than the opposition, then your FAME for the match is zero. If you have more fans attending the match than your opponent, your FAME is +1 for the match. In the exceptional case that your team has drawn in twice as many or more fans than your opponent, your FAME for the match will be +2 instead.

(sorry for mistakes, had to type as copypaste does not seem want to work atm)

....so in short your winnings -should be-, unless changed by Cyanide:

D6 + FAME (0-20k) + 10k (IF win or draw). -> you can win 70k, even if you lose (5-6 on D6 + 1-2 on FAME)

Winner may reroll if wants.

As usual, the get hurt kickers were up and all planning to get close and personal with lizardmen. It is kicking time. It is time to Get Them Hurt!

Hoo Raa!

I won the coin toss, and chosed to kick. Everything was going normally and surprisingly, there were very little armor breaks.

Kicked a lizardmen into the crowd! Booo! they did nothing!

that legendary 10 MV skink rushed towards my finishing line. two go for it for a touchdown! And he trips!!!!!!!

a quick pick up by a catcher, whom threw a long ball and fumbled pass! But nuffle was with me today, as the ball landed right next to my biltzer (whom i wanted to throw it to) and it bounced into his hand!

a quick run later with a dodge, and I scored a td.

Not learning from the past experience, My players were able to kick (probably the same) lizardman into the field once more.
But the crowd couldn't penetrate his armor, and so he was safe.

kickoff once more... A skink tried to dodged through a lineman, but he was the hulk. "NOT TODAY!" He said, as his massive Quadriceps lashed out, and smashed the skink into a knock out. A dodge by that same catcher, a pick up, and a second throw to a waiting blitzer scored my 2nd touchdown.

turn 7: kicked a lizardman to the crowd. They did noting.
Turn 8: kicked a lizardman to the crowd. They did nothing.

We welcomed back Dirty elf as the apo finished up on healing him after his death.
When I received the ball. Everything went fine, and as expected, I passed the ball to a waiting blitzer whom ran for the TD.
However, one of my lineman with guard died to the giant lizard. We mourned his death, and we promised he will not go in vein. We scored the touchdown next turn, eyes blazing as we planned revenge.

and so as I kicked off, and for 3 turns, I singled out a lizardman and STOMPED him as much as I could. The crowd and judges loved it. They loved it so much, they awarded the loner mercenary whom stomped the lizard the MVP, even when he was sent off by the ref.

It looked as if DC would easily score a touchdown (Due to me not caring about it)
But then, a sudden surprise twist! he moved his str 5 lizard away from my elf stomp bang group, and towards the side!

My elves looked at each other, and they all nodded. With a sprint of speed, they rushed to cover all possible spaces that the skink with the ball would be able to move through and the rest kept the lizard in check.

And with that, a touchdown was prevented, and a dead elf passed away peacefully.

kanarek: GoG Weekly Match Day 7, Division 1 tips

Raging Pink Lizards (Lizard 3-2-1) vs Get Hurt Kickers (ProE 3-3-0)
Probably the most spectacular match of this round. Is RazzleDazzle fast enough to outrun the long pass of the Kickers? We will know soon enough. Two tackle blitzers means two TDs for Kickers, 1 super fast skink and 2saurus with block means..who cares. 3-2 for Kickers.
that's a damn good guess. 3-0 was the final score.

edit: My team is fully prepared to lose the next game. For one, they are out leveled and out dodged. For two, they can't help but stare at all those delicious curves. And as head coach, I can't blame them.

one lizardman with badly hurt, miss next game (i think) due to red dice.

my dirty player elf was killed and healed to full health
my guard lineman was killed.

and that's surprisingly it. so little armor breaks this game.

even had? 5 kos?

noticed that my game 6 isn't up : hmm, here it is.

TwisterBE: Twisted Elves vs Wheredmons ended in a tie: 2-2.
Some unlucky rolls on both sides.
here is the replay.

Also would love to have some feedback from you guys.
I was going to reply you a long time ago, but consistently just havent had the time and/or concentration to do so. Actually even now i just run out of coffee break, so i am back to hammer some CAD.

Anyways, if i remember correctly you play -quite- aggressively with the woodies. Perhaps a little bit too much so.

Sure at times you need to throw some players "into the flames" so to speak, but with super expensive woodie players that have only AV7, its not something that can be done long without any thought.

If you have not yet spectated any matches going on in BB lobby, id suggest you try to find and spectate some wood elf matches, where the wood elves have a bit higher TV - that usually means the wood elf coach is not newbie and hopefully has some proper idea what he or she is doing :)

also if you have time, you should take a look at this: http://www.plasmoids.dk/bbowl/playbooks/Woodelf2.pdf
its supposed to be very good playbook for wood elves.

As i havent played them myself, i only can say that in general its good idea to keep some distance from the opponent when possible and then use your fast speed + blitzers leap to surgically strike the opponents ball carrier or other vital point/player in his formation. if you go toe-to-toe with basher teams, its more likely than not that youll find in tight spot.

Speed, leaping and passing to score - thats he main course to win with woodies i believe. But do check the playbook to read opinion of someone who has actually played a lot with them :)
I don't have much to add to our game. I will say that it DID resemble a game and I did indeed play in it. It certainly wasn't fun like a game though.

I'm sure we all go through these games at one point or another. In the end, he had the rolls, he had the players, and I got deftly handled.

Maybe I take this shit too seriously.
I watched the game between Digital Hero and Cheong last night.

All I can say is that I was having flashbacks back to week 2 against Pogo.
Anemic's vs Zeta's humans -> 2-1 for teh vamps!

To sum it: My dice were loaded with one's. Almost every single GFI seemed to fail, which atleast luckily didnt kill my vamps this time around. One thrall decided he was so tough, he lowered his AV to 6. Also my MVP went to loner. again. ...but I got 3 levelups for my vampires + won the match, so can hardly complain :)

Not counting three Bloodlust CAS and that one -AV thrall, the match wasnt really bloodly at all. Zeta stunned my team quite alot at times, but luckily i didnt have to suffer worse injuries. One of my thralls CAS'ed his blitzer on last turn, but that didnt result in any lasting injury.

Ill upload the match + lot of other replays to google drive shortly.

----

A word about how the match played out?

Well I received in the beginning and managed to score pretty fast on turn 4 (i think). I did not do very good job at defending which combined with Zeta caging pretty well + me losing alot of players and a vamp to CAS/KO let him even the game 1-1 on turn 8.

On second half i kicked and zeta caged again tightly. Somehow i managed to put some pressure on his ballcarrier (thrower i think), who tried to pass the ball to a free human. It didnt work out and i managed to recover the ball and run almost till then end of the pitch...where i promply failed GFI and got stunned. This lead to another mess of vampires and human trying to reach for the ball, where i got luckier in the end and scored 2-1 on turn 14.

Zeta went to try 2 turn TD ofcourse, which wouldnt have been impossible at all as i had again put my players on the pitch in bad position + those blitzers are silly fast when they dont fail gfi's.. Well, luckily i managed to block the ballcarrier and stall for the next turn.

My description is more than lacking - the match low on (human) blood but felt quite intensive. There were many occasions where the ball could have gone just as well to opposite direction - but yet again the vamps managed to somehow hypno-triumph despite almost running out of thralls and rolling more 1's than statistics allow.
