After their lucky break last week, this week the Dark Elves had to face the match without the dark magic of the Halfling cauldron. Luckily for Nagarythe Decadence, they landed a sponsoring deal with "Whipping Post", Nagaryth's finest purveyor of leather goods and other assorted conveniences, providing them with Mithral groin protectors that left the dwarves with basically no unprotected area to attack.

The only break for the Dwarves came when one of them mistook an elven knee for a spigot and attempted to rip it out with his teeth. The elves disapproved of his base choice of liquor of course.

As a result, the Hammerfists were unable to inflict any lasting harm on the Elves, leaving two apothecaries and the Budweiser Babe discussing factual errors in "50 shades of grey" over a glass of wine while the crowd moped about the lack of blood.

Final Score 2-0 for the elves. Replay at http://sdrv.ms/19bjVn8. And I have a new toy. Good-looking game summary attached :-)

As can be seen there, I was rather lucky to suffer very little from my attempts to use my elves as bait. Stampede played an excellent, basically unpenetrable caging game until I suffered an unlucky turnover and he got a bit carried away with finally getting his hands on my poor elves. I used the resulting opening for a very elvish passing play (despite the Blizzard) and managed to run away from any pursuing nasties with my single available catcher. One lucky offensive in the second half, a bit of stalling and some real luck with "going for its" rounded out a very fun and fair match.

You can say that. ;) I try to remember next time. :)

rcthedigitalhero: Also, I now have to vote for certain teams to win. Therefore, Mr. Chaos Panda, I expect great things out of you this week.

Break dat Chaos team! Make those Cows Moo their last Moo!

Help me Obi-Wan Panda... you're not my only hope, but we're getting close
I have to admit, I had a hard time not to laugh out loud here in the office when my boss sitting in the next room. ;D

I can't promise anything. The Force is a bit unreliable these days...

Rodzaju: I did threaten to "accidentally" reset the match but he didn't take the bait...
avatar
chaos_panda: I just don't know what to think about that.

Technical difficulties are one thing. But that someone in this league does that "reset"-thing on purpose in a league-match...? I dunno ... doing something like that is nothing more then bad sportsmanship and I sincerely hope nobody has done that here in s1 or s2.

And just in case:
If it meant to be a joke ... it is a bad one...
Ah well i was worried about 1 sec and then had to smile about it, so i dont really consider it a bad joke.
In any case I still had the replay, should be easy enough to convince the other moderators to give me an autowin afterwards if needed. Which would have had my preference because Rod is a really good player and if he rolls only a little bit better i would lose drastically. He anticipated every move i would do, so a replay would have been in heavily in his favor :).
But i think these kind of things are part of the games, a bit of teasing and joking. And should anything happen that is not fair there are plenty of experienced and friendly moderators around to help out. So no need to worry to much.

* beginning to think moderator is the wrong word, is it admin? or something else?

So far we have talked about admins i think.

Beloved Eternal Grand-Arch-UberAdmin of GOG Weekly league, Perfectly Unerring Judge & Jury, Son of Nuffle, Bright Sun of the Blood Bowl Pitch, Peerless Ever-victorious Coach iippo.
Played my match with Moggrym this morning with the match ending in 1-0 for the Spiky Red Team.

With a Wizard that did no damge I thought here we go again, but the team itself performed outstanding.
By the end of the match Moggrym was running out of Amazons (he had 4 reserves at the start of the match).
Guard on the minotaur and Tackle on a Chaos Warrior really did the trick.

kanarek: Red Spiky Team (Chaos 1-0-5) vs The Busty Bruisers (Zons 4-0-2)
That is B, that is R, that is E, that is A, that is a Touchdown!! Girls will have few bruises, but they are used to it. Maybe they will even have some little goat after nine months. But they will have the victory. Busty Bit..c..h..e..s will win 2-1.
HA to you sir!

I'm pretty much always available, it's just my hours are all over the damn place. Right now, that shouldn't be a problem.

What I'm gonna do, is I'm gonna keep Steam online. I'm a secretive person, so I don't like people knowing what I'm doing all the time, BUT it'll help set up games.

dwarves vs humans on air
For any interested, Cheong and I will play tonight around 9 PM PST, Noon GMT - 1 I believe.

Also, having been inspired by Kanarek, I will be writing a short little thing each week analyzing the two most important games each week; one from each week. This'll start next week.

EDIT: HOW MANY TIMES CAN I SAY WEEK?!

Close match between Red Lantern and We are not fluffy birds.
I was close to a TD in the first half but Morg failed a Go for it and Loner eat the re-roll. And during the second half I could not defend good enough to prevent a TD on the last turn. Good game!

1-0 for the fluffy birds :)
Tentative plans for iipp0 and myself to have our game tomorrow at noon Pacific time, 10pm GMT +3.
The Misfits loose 2-1 to Natural Disaster.
This was in part due to their coach being really stupid and in part due to the dice not being too cooperative in important moment (Dogde on 2+ with a dodge re-roll when you really need it to work? - No. Picking up a free ball with sure hands? - No.)

Anyway, the whole Misfits team is up again and eating Warpstone ready to play next week while Natural Disaster have a team mate going back to mother earth and another loosing some of his elfish agility.
