Gibbous - A Cthulhu Adventure is a PC Mac Linux comedy point 'n click love letter to classic-era Lucas Arts adventures, Hitchcock, HP Lovecraft, and many, many others. A lighthearted spoof of the Cthulhu Mythos, Gibbous will have you controlling 3 protagonists, dealing with strange cultists, ancient voodoo, and Dead Cthulhu himself. Well, "dead" is just a matter of opinion... But you really came here for the bullet points, didn't you? Alright, here ya go:

-Classic point and click gameplay inspired by the great Lucas Arts games of yore!
-Traditional frame by frame animation, just like back in the days (well, maybe a bit more frames)
-Detailed, hand-painted background art!
-Hugely diverse orchestral soundtrack!
-Unique responses for item-hotspot combinations!
-A focus on exploration and examining the environment!
-Loving and respectful spoof of the Cthulhu Mythos
-DRM-free or Steam Key!
-Made in Transylvania!

This was taken from their kickstarter here where you can also find a free demo:
https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/777841902/gibbous-a-cthulhu-adventure/description

The project meanwhile has been funded so the game will be made.
However at the moment this means that the game will have general voice over and English subtitles only. They plan to do subtitles in English, French, Italian, German and Spanish (EFIGS) but they need more money to do this - it is a stretch goal. So I would like everybody who likes classic adventures and/or Cthulhu and/or hand drawn professional animation and/or humour to go to the kickstarter site and back their project (every $ counts).

You can also help by voting on it on the GOG community wishlist here:
https://www.gog.com/wishlist/games/gibbous_a_cthulhu_adventure

The devs have made clear that they want to be on GOG, don't like DRM and thet they also want to give the opportunity as rewards for backers to chose GOG codes if GOG will have them. They also are extremely sympathetic and their work imo speaks for them. It's their first project so I ask this great community to help them.

P.S.: Sorry if this should be regarded as spam but I just want to give this amazing adventure a platform.

P.P.S: Please spread the kickstarter link to everybody who might be interested.

More point&clicks is always a good thing, so why not, have my vote. My money, however, stays with me untill the game is actually released.
Happy to see them reaching the funding goal

No problem and understandable regarding how often the end result of a kickstarter did not meet what have been promised (however the demo for me is a proof that the devs are able to do this) but please apart from voting here on GOG also spread the news by sharing a link to this thread or to their kickstarter. Thank you for your support :)

Yes, I am very happy too. But wouldn't it be great if they would reach EFIGS so we both could play the game in our native language? So I am not stopping to advertize it until the campagne is really over. I also got some positive replys on steam where I posted in every thread I could find having "Cthulhu" in the title. One reply was even from the devs of the game in which forum I had posted in. Everybody who KNOWS this game loves it but unfortunately not everybody does know it yet - that is still the problem. Otherwise the EFIGS stretch goal (additional 20K) would not be a problem at all.

For adventure games?
Gabriel Knight 1, Prisoner of Ice, Shadow of the Comet, Beneath a Steel Sky, I Have No Mouth, Sanitarium, Dark Seed.

But I guess for a comedy/spoof game this style might be appropriate.

I see - that is more of a realistic approach then so I totally understand why this is not your cup of tea. Gibbous is more the style like day of the tentacle, monkey island and such. As you've said: it better fits the comedy/spoof kind of game it will be.
For me, the game's visual style gives me just about the same feeling as Monkey Island 3. Considering that that's my first and favorite point-and-click, it helped me like the game immediately. I don't know if it's the painting style or the way the characters are animated, but I feel right at home in the game. It's not a feeling I get from many point-and-clicks.

I like the art style, I like point and click games... but I'll be honest I want this game for the black cat. As a cat person, with allergies to said fluffy balls of fun (read: evil alien dominators), games are a way for me to get cats in my life. GoG help me be happy. Gimme the virtual kitteh*! Voted.

*This is by no means an endorsement of all games featuring said furballs. I will not buy every game featuring a cat that would be released here. This game do seem to hold promise hence the vote.
As a fellow cat enthusiast who is allergic to them, I feel you. Being in the presence of a cat and not petting it is (a very mild form of) psychological torture. Especially when there's people around exclaiming how soft it is or when the cat is visibly looking for affection.
Looks pretty good and I love the artwork, Thanks for letting us know about this however I'm with Breja on this and will wait until actual release since I see Kickstarter as a riskier preorder.
What do you get when you mix Monkey Island 3 and Cthulhu? A comedy about fish monsters, talking demonic cats, the Necronomicon and Voodoo!

The devs are cat fans as well. They even have their own office cat called 3.0 (don't ask) :) I have to confess that Kitteh is my favorite character as well so no shame in this. Play the demo and you'll like her even more. Glad you voted and still hoping for you to back them as well. But even if not: spread the news and bring backers to them.

As I said I totally understand. However apart from most other kickstarters this even has a free demo showing that the devs will be able to make this reality. You could also back them with 1$ only and consider that a demo fee ;) but the main thing however is to spread the news so people are getting aware of this even existing. I am pretty confident in this and so it is the first kickstarter I've ever supported - I may even raise my pledge when they finally show the boxart for the physical boxed version.

I've been following the project for a couple of weeks but haven't backed until yesterday. I'm glad I did. It's a small team but the demo and the way they've been running the campaign have won me over. They seem to be really passionate about the game and I have faith that the result will be absolutely satisfying.
