The slang term "bogarting" refers to taking an unfairly long time with a joint that is supposed to be shared. It derives from Bogart's style of cigarette smoking, with which he left his cigarette dangling from his mouth rather than withdrawing it between puffs.[133] The term also inspired a 1968 song Don't Bogart Me (also known as Don't Bogart That Joint) by US band Fraternity of Man, which became popular in hippy culture through its inclusion in the soundtrack of the 1969 film Easy Rider, and the song Don't Bogart My Heart by Australian singer/songwriter Darren Hanlon.[134] "Bogart" can also refer to coercion or bullying in African-American slang [135]
