Anachronox

Battle system and backtracking will need major overhauls.

And then, of course, the game needs to be about a third longer to finish the story. People have asked for an Anachronox 2 as a conclusion, but I'm convinced we're past that point. Full remake and expansion.

Which will of course never happen as SQE are b*****ds.
Ultima series. I'd love to sink my teeth into that one, but the early games aged too much even for me. And the last two games... well, those were always broken and crap from what I understand. And even if they were not, there seems to be little point in playing only the very final chapter of the story.

You can get u5 for dungeon siege, its called Lazarus. Personally I would say play u7 plus the serpent isle. For me these were the best of the series and still hold up as a great rpg. U6 is also playable.

I should point out one thing: The combat in Ultima 7 is horrible. If you play u7 (either part), play it for the story, world, and dialogue, not for the combat.

It was ok, click swing sword.or fire crossbow, your party moves about. Worked for me, but then I cant stand the jrpg battle types that you seem to prefer, so each to their own. One of the best things is the exploration, lots of secrets and places to goto, try finding the pirate treasure for instance.

I tried Lazarus, but it didn't really click for me. I don't know, just... something felt off. I actually have U7 here on GOG, but I'm not sure about starting the series (the few hours of not getting anywhere in 4 I don't count) with the 7th game. I'd like to play the whole thing, beginning to end. I don't need any bells and whistles, just 2D graphics and a comfortable interface. Voice acting would also be more than welcome, but not obligatory.

Azhdar: I've mentioned them on a similar thread before (link).
I'm blind, sorry. :-)

Phc7006: [...] railroad tycoon [...] did by comparison much better.
Talking about rrt2: Honestly, this game had so fucking awesome missions! It's almost 20 years old and I've never seen a game in this genre doing the mission thing that good, not even nearly. why?

I did have a look some time back. Managed to get the maps, story, artwork, so it is possible to create a unified engine. The first couple of games in the series are quite different from the others, so they would be a problem. Quite an effort though, re-creating all the 2d graphics, that is the main effort. Have been looking at Love2d and Lua recently, so might take that as a small project to do in that.
Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

Like, seriously. Give it a proper ending, more cutscenes, story missions, diverse weapons, more to do at mother base etc etc etc. There is so much that could be improved in that game.

On a (kind of) more serious note, I'm not really approving of remakes of old classics or games that has been out for x amount of years unless it's in an attempt to make them playable on new machines. I'd rather see sequels or spiritual successors to not hurt what made that classic game a classic. One game that I'd love to see a proper sequel to though is Battlefront 2.

Simon the Sorcerer 3D.

I hear that at its core it is a great game that got saddled with rubbish 3D, but I just can't put in the incredible amount of effort it would require to find out. A 2D demake, or an improved 3D remake would definitely help it.
Police Quest And Space Quest Series.
Good Old Games that have problems on modern machines.
Janes Longbow 2 Gold. Remake, reboot, reimagining, restart, repotato, however ya name it, we need a new Janes AH64 sim.

Which reminds me...

Hey GOG.... How about tracking down the Janes Longbow games and other Janes games and bringing them on board? You've got many old classic Apache sims etc. already, and the Janes Longbow titles were some of the best AH64 games ever made. :)
Fallout 4.

*rimshot*. Nah, I'm just kiddin'. Maybe. Not really.

Matewis: Commander Keen!
Hell yeah!

I also would love to see a remake of Croc: Legend of the Gobbos and the NES platformer Wacky Races (the latter maybe done in a similar fashion to DuckTales Remastered).
