Maybe good news and maybe not. It could also mean: "Yes, we considered. But it's not worth our time and money.".

Exactly, that's what it sounds like, imo. Star Warrior should have asked if they are considering it.

Bad news for Cossacsk 3 release on gog.com.

I sent an email to the devs and this is the answer:

Hi. We do not plan to release Cossacks 3 on GOG this year. Only on Steam and retail versions.
Thanks.

It's possible you're both right, but it didn't fit the MO of a typical brush off. The fact that he liked all three of the tweets that listed the console games and tweeted "Yes" with no "but" gives me hope. It's not definitive, but this is the same fellow that gave a similar response to a tweet about the three Virgin Interactive platformers before they were released here and he was responsible for bringing Super Star Wars to PS4.

Hmmm, that looks interesting. A bit odd they're releasing another game when by all accounts the original is only half finished though...

Yeah that's certainly grabbing at theories, and possibly proving them.
edit:

WHAT IF I OWN BOTH GAMES? CAN I PICK ANY FACTION FOR MULTIPLAYER?

Yes. Both 8-Bit Armies and 8-Bit Hordes will detect whether you own both products. If you do, then multiplayer, skirmish, and quickmatch will allow you to choose any of the 4 factions in those modes, regardless of which game you’re running. You will also have access to hosting games with any multiplayer map from either game.
]
That's interesting and all... but is it a multiplayer only thing or what? Maybe the resident 8-Bit fan will let me know after the fact.... please?

So it sounds like this is actually some of the promised extra factions sneakily disguised as a new game? :/

The annoying thing is, I really like the look and sound of both games so will probably get them eventually, despite what appears to be some pretty crappy practices...

Yes and No, Petro decided a medievalish faction would not fit in well with 8-Bit armies so they decided to spin it off into its own game.

They decided that all new factions for Both games will be free, but their campaigns will be DLC.

No from my discussions with a dev on Discord 8-bit hordes will have its own campaigns and yes you can play the factions from the respective game in MP so if you won 8BH you can play 8BH factions against 8BA players and vice versa.

And that's the last straw that breaks the camel's back... I don't have anything against proper expansions released ~a year after the original game but if a game gets released in small parts within a few months that's a business model I'm not willing to support.

PainOfSalvation: I've asked Bloober Team (creators of Layers of Fear) about chances of their other game coming to GOG and this was their [url=https://twitter.com/BlooberTeam/status/761827777859481600]reply:

"That's actually a good idea!"

Edit: You can vote for it if you like in Community Wishlist:

The majority of 8-bit armies users on Steam was against the fantasy factions to be included in 8-bit armies. Everybody wanted more C&C content which in small dose came with the guardians faction (free dlc) + campaign dlc.

I guess the devs then decided to release another game with fantasy content using the same engine/graphics but since multiplayer can be played against 8-bit armies owners that is still a nice trade-off.

That is great news. 8-bit Hordes looks even better then 8-bit armies. And at that loyalty price definitely worth it.
