According to wikipedia, Ys: The Ark of Napishtim was released on PC in 2003. And an English translation (fan patch) has been out for years too. So it's probably just a repackaging of that.

XSEED has been quite diligent in the sense that they've done extensive work on the previous Falcom games they've released. Not only have they updated them to support modern resolutions, they've even ported the content that subsequent console/handheld re-releases featured. So at least so far, they haven't been just repackaging already existing releases.

That said, in Ys VI's case, there isn't all that much that could really be added from the PS2/PSP versions, since the additions were either of questionable value or actually made the game worse. Not to mention that it might not even be possible for XSEED to include any of it, since those versions were done by Konami rather than Falcom.

So aside from tweaking the game to work with modern resolutions as well as licensing and editing the fan translation (though I suppose they could opt to make their own translation), it is indeed likely that Ys VI will be a relatively straightforward re-release.

It would be great to see American McGee's Alice on GOG! The wishlist has Over 9,000 votes!
Any ideas about Strife? It's been a while since the Steam release in December.

The folks who made the port said that Night Dive is waiting on the GOG Galaxy API so we can get a release with intact multi-player, and presumably other features.

And General Arcade, the folks behind stuff like the Redux versions of Duke 3D and Shadow Warrior on Steam are querying GOG users to test a tool for gamepad compatibility for DRM-free games, so maybe they're looking to bring some stuff here too:

Duke 3D Megaton I really hope comes, if only for the included expansions. :)

Thank you! I'll have to be of some help and test that SDL2 Gamepad tool if I can.

No way!!1
In the same vein as WFTO, second class passenger of the games industry like, I've got some news on Son of Nor, a 1 to 4 players action adventure game ( here is the KS page : https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/stillalivestudios/son-of-nor-the-world-is-your-weapon/description ) released today on steam :

For now you are right, there is only the Steam version. We are planning to release a DRM free one on GOG and Humble Page later this year. So no worries, it will come ;-)

Here you go, GOG team. Another galaxy waiting title.
An official blog post here says that the Descent: Underground team plans to release the game on GOG:

Yes! It would be great to see another Descent game on GOG!
Well at least not all Kickstarters are Steam only.

While positive to see I wouldn't consider that confirmation (yes, it's a different project).

Yeah, despite any promises with Kickstarters a GOG release can always be considered up in the air. I have a folder with a bunch of Kickstarter games where the devs have said that at least want to release on or consider GOG, but it really is too early to tell, anything can happen.
