Don't know much about those except Deadly Premonition. I felt if you stripped away all the gameplay elements and turned it into a visual novel type it would have been great. But the frequent bugs and lackluster mechanics (combat, eating/drinking, driving) really brought it down for me.

I was curious where exactly I had abandoned Baten Kaitos Origins, so I dug up my 12-years-old save and it seems that I stopped during Azha, while I was investigating a terrorist attack or something which, according to a guide, was quite a ways from the second disc.
Yes, the driving is lacklustre and the game can become pretty repetitive, but it wasn't too bad overall. The crashes, the fear of the game-breaking glitch, as well as the bug that cuts the game's framerate in half until you restart your PC, are the things that ultimately made me stay away from the game.

I had a lot of trouble with it because it is the very first thing that happens when you move to disc two. I have heard of other people not having too much trouble with it. Just be mindful of it if you can.

Crusader: No Remose, Spellforce, Alien Nations, Robin Hood: The Legend of Sherwood, Silver, Space Colony HD, Knight Shift, and Avernum.

I'll also try out Brigador: Up-Armored Edition which was just part of the giveaway. It looked interesting so I grabbed it, but that doesn't mean I'll beat it.

I quite liked Spellforce and the sequels when I played it several years ago. I also think Silver is pretty good. Still need to play any of the Spiderweb Software games.

Geneforge is a pretty decent game(and series...though I have yet to play the rest)...also Avadon is decent enough(and somewhat tied to the exile/avernum games).

Avernum is ok as well, but(mostly due to nostalgia) I like the original games(exile series) a bit more....well, minus the text keyword dialog in the earliest games, anyways.
