First game of the year to be finished: Rogue Legacy.

It's hard to say when you're finished with this game I suppose, but I've just finished my task of collecting all (but one) of the achievements, just need to let the game tick over until I get the played for 20 hours one now.

Great game, I find myself wanting to play more but I'm not sure what else there is to do. I'm sure I'll go back and play some more from time to time.

I just finished Rogue Legacy (also), that was a beast.

Finished The Walking Dead: Season 1 and its DLC. I already played it when it was out and wanted to play it again before starting season 2. Still an amazing experience.

So, I beat my first game this year. It was Tomb Raider: Underworld, which I've added to my list.

I didn't like the game very much at first. It started off with this huge underwater level, and those are the ones I generally liked the least in other Tomb Raider games. I was stuck for quite a while, since I didn't notice a small cave holding a crank until much later. And how could've I, the cave was separate from another, much bigger cave. And since it was the first level, I didn't think to explore around that, especially since the only notifiable entities outside it were bloodthirsty sharks. But, after I had played a bit further, I began to like the game a little bit more. Once I got the feel of the climbing, it was pretty fun. That's not to say it still wasn't equally frustrating as it was fun, mainly because Lara seems to be even more picky about which ledges she will or will not grab. I must have died hundreds of times, simply thinking "they, there's a ledge I can surely grab" but Lara's all like "awwnah, don't feel like grabbing that today" before plunging to the ravine and violently bouncing off the ground butt-first. And the camera is so, so bad at times...if there's any game that has more leaps of faith, I surely haven't played it. And what is up with that story? Norse artifacts slash "underworlds" under the Mediterranean sea? And in friggin Thailand? I didn't know that Vikings had an influence in deep fucking Asia as well. I can see why they needed to reboot the whole series; not that the new one makes that much sense either, but this really boggles the mind. Plus, they sort of messed up the order of games too: first you need to play Anniversary, which was released second, then Legend, which came out first, and finally this. The too-epic-for-their-own-good story and the fucked up chronological order probably meant they were better off just reinventing the franchise from scratch.

Overall: probably not the best Tomb Raider game, but then again I don't know anymore which one is. Essentially, they're all the same: you climb shit, you shoot some shit, and occasionally you watch people talk shit. Just pick one game at random and try not to care about the story at all, and you've got the full Tomb Raider experience.
