games I loved and would pay to play again, or would have a game-asim to see re-done in the latest graphics.
Secret Weapons of the Luftwaffe (SWOTL)*
Xwing vs. Tie Fighter**
Roger Wilco, IV, V and VI***
*this is the most enjoyable flight sim and wwII sim I have ever played. The graphics by todays standards are terrible, but the idea and gameplay have never been matched since. Give me a wwII flight sim I can play without being a ultra realistic and with both strategic and tactical scope and I will be in heaven. Oh and make it multiplayer, or even a MMO.
** please for the love of god let me play in the star wars universe in a realistic flightsim, thathas nothing to do with magic/jedi powers. This game and the other related games were truely emersive for their time and I would pay triple the going price to play a modern game like this in the Star Wars universe.
^^^ These games were hilarious and full of puzzles. Modernize it, and you will see a lot of gamers flock to their PC's to play it. Even women liked these ones.
****Ancient game, but fun and playable. If someone could make a "virtual modem" that emulated a modem over the Internet I would sitll be playing this. Graphically it was a joke, but was so much fun. This is the first RTS game I even saw that recorded the game and let you watch a previated version afterwards.
*****Wing Commander was cool, but Privateer was awesome. It was like a single player MMO. looking back, I had more fun playing Privateer than I did in more modern re-makes like Freelancer. Freelancer was basically upgraded graphics but less story and less emersion. Freelancer is a good example of to much flash and not enough substance, where as Privateer was full of substance at a time when graphics were very limited.
