Xardas722: Not if you build a wall of Multi-Barreled Cannons in Cossacks or have two hard AI allies vs 2 medium AIs in American conquest. :D
That's not the problem! The problem is when you run out of shells for those so you take some of you peons out of the field to work in the mines only when you do that you start running low on food so you take some of you people out of the armory to work in the field only then you start to run out of shells again! XD

legopig: Men of War are good strategy games, so is World in Conflict (not sure if it is on GoG but is one of the best RTS games ever) and also R.U.S.E. Also I bought Ultimate general Gettysburg this week and it is a cool little strategy game for a mobile port.

As for adventure games Book of Unwritten Tales is quite good.
Already completed Book of Unwritten Tales, such a good game, a lot of humor.
I'll take a look at the others. I am assuming they are about normal war? (Aka no spaceships, huge monsters etc)

Huff: Take a look at the Wadjet Eye Games. I've only played Gemini Rue so far, but they seem to fit with what youre after
Wadjet Eye Games? I believe they made the Blackwell series. Have yet to try that series. From 1 to 10 what would you rate Gemini Rue, 10 being the highest.

after having actually read the OP thoroughly, I'll also drop a recommendation for discworld 1 and 2. dink smallwood games and the apprentice by herculean effort.

I am suddenly recalled of an adventure game based on an australian guy that used to be in the old shockwave web stuff.

perimeter is a weird rts.

Green_Hilltop: All Sierra games - King's Quest, Quest for Glory, Police Quest, Space Quest.

All Lucasart games you haven't played yet - check out The Dig, Loom, all Indy games on here.

Quest for Infamy - in the genre of QfG, really funny but it's a comedy.

A new one that came out, Tele...something.

Jane Jensen games - Phantasmagoria (if you don't mind dark, horror games) and Gabriel Knight series.

Toonstruck for awesome funny cartoon point 'n' click.

Blackwell series.

Those are the ones I can think of at the moment. And Tex Murphy.

Edit: Or, just go through this page and look for reviews, most of them are good.

Awesome I will check those games, thanks!

wadjet eye games are good, and deserve support. maybe I'm biased but I loved the shit out of gemini rue, and resonance is even better regarded.
I must say in here.. Police quest collection. I have beaten the first and the second and it is weird how much I actually liked second one. It's like must ugly thing you will ever see but it was a good game also it had good music.

Matewis: Still-life is a very good puzzle game about two detectives in two different time periods. It has great atmosphere, a gripping Jack the Ripper esque story and challenging puzzles.

The Longest Journey is another point and click adventure game, with a lesser focus on puzzles compared to Still Life. Great locations, great characters, great story and far more upbeat than the dark and gloomy still life. It's definitely one of the greater classics on gog.

Seeing as how you like puzzle games, I'd be willing to bet that turn-based strategy is right up your alley. Something that is quite easy to get into, and with a decent difficulty curve (occasionally very difficult), is Disciples 2. It's my alltime favorite fantasy tbs, and the game's intoxicating dark fantasy atmosphere has a lot to with it. From it you can also move onto the legendary which, on average, cranks up the difficulty level quite, uhm, substantially. There's also [url=http://www.gog.com/game/age_of_wonders]Age of Wonders to consider. Again a totally different fantasy atmosphere, and it has the best combat of the three imo.

If you you're interested in strategy games and like puzzle games, perhaps you'll also like a city builder game? My favorite on gog is Pharaoh.

Lastly, it's not on gog, yet, but it's the best point and click ever made, and once I come to power I'll decree that it's the best game ever made! :

Is Still Life first person camera angle?

I have picked up Age of Wonders from the summer sale, so you got that right, its right up my aisle :)

Hmm been looking into Pharaoh, but not quite sure.

So that is Blade Runner, thought it was a person shooter game -.-

Avogadro6: Generally speaking, you really can't go wrong with Lucasarts and Wadjet Eye adventures; with a few minor exceptions *cough*Resonance*cough*.

I think I should have a spare Steam key for the first Blackwell episode it you're interested.
Oh no thank you. I actually got them, just haven't tried them yet.

I played Secret Agent on DOS, so ugliness doesn't scare me off XD

johnnygoging: game recommendation?

Jade Empire.

Half-Life.

Marlow Briggs.

just off the top of my head. though Jade Empire is a game among games, just like Half-Life.
Half Life is a shooter game, not that much into those kinds. I'll take a look at the others.

Xardas722: and [url=https://www.gog.com/game/american_conquest]American conquest are very good strategy games where you need to build your military base and destroy your enemies.
Tried Cossacks, it reminded me of another game I can't remember at the moment. Not too bad, but yeah, it didn't keep my interest. Assuming we are talking about the same game of course.

discworld is a series of british fantasy novels that were written from the 80s to recently. and also a trilogy of good games.

Wistala: What is Discworld?
A brilliant series of humourous fantasy novels by the recently deceased author Terry Pratchett.
In the 90s, Psygnosis made several adventure games based on the series. They're pretty good, even though Discworld 1 has the most insane and illogical puzzles in the world. They're not on GOG, so it's a bit tricky to find legal copies of these games.

I did not mean any offense towards you (just making that clear as I am not quite sure how to understand your first sentence, sorry)

I have completed Broken Sword, awesome game. Looked up Gabriel Knight and it reminds me of Monkey Island.
