Hello!

Since I just found out you can't search for Gogmixes and thereby find potentially games to play. I was advised to come here and annoying you all. Joking, I was advised to get help from the community by giving you guys some keywords, and hopefully some of you might be able to help me out.

I am mainly looking for puzzles/detective games (like, Monkey Island, Broken Sword, etc) I prefer the point-and-click kind, but if you believe you got a good one that doesn't, then let me know.
I don't mind how old or new they are, just as long as its good.

I am also looking for strategy games, sadly I am not sure exactly what I am looking for here. I quite liked Red Alert, Starcraft, but I am up for anything really.

Think any one got some games recommendations?
Men of War are good strategy games, so is World in Conflict (not sure if it is on GoG but is one of the best RTS games ever) and also R.U.S.E. Also I bought Ultimate general Gettysburg this week and it is a cool little strategy game for a mobile port.

As for adventure games Book of Unwritten Tales is quite good.

Take a look at the Wadjet Eye Games. I've only played Gemini Rue so far, but they seem to fit with what youre after
All Sierra games - King's Quest, Quest for Glory, Police Quest, Space Quest.

All Lucasart games you haven't played yet - check out The Dig, Loom, all Indy games on here.

Quest for Infamy - in the genre of QfG, really funny but it's a comedy.

A new one that came out, Tele...something.

Jane Jensen games - Phantasmagoria (if you don't mind dark, horror games) and Gabriel Knight series.

Toonstruck for awesome funny cartoon point 'n' click.

Blackwell series.

Those are the ones I can think of at the moment. And Tex Murphy.

Edit: Or, just go through this page and look for reviews, most of them are good.

"Master of Magic" is my favorite turn-based strategy game. It is looking old, but my love for it has nothing to do with nostalgia : i have only discovered it 3 or 4 years ago.

I have discovered even more recently the "Men of War" series and it is absolutely terrific.

I'm a fan of the "Total War" series, but it is not on gog unfortunately. Neither is the excellent "Dawn of War 1" collection.

I adore the "Blackwell" series, although you might find the graphisms too old-school. But the writing is excellent.

And "Gabriel Knight" and "Tex Murphy" are much praised detective adventure games, and so are "Post Mortem" and its sequels. But you might want to try the sherlock holmes series, starting with the "Silver Earring" which is on gog (too bad the other ones aren't, they get increasingly better).
You know what? Have you ever played Gemini Rue? I have a key for it from someone that never claimed his prize (7 months was more than enough), do you want it?
Still-life is a very good puzzle game about two detectives in two different time periods. It has great atmosphere, a gripping Jack the Ripper esque story and challenging puzzles.

The Longest Journey is another point and click adventure game, with a lesser focus on puzzles compared to Still Life. Great locations, great characters, great story and far more upbeat than the dark and gloomy still life. It's definitely one of the greater classics on gog.

Seeing as how you like puzzle games, I'd be willing to bet that turn-based strategy is right up your alley. Something that is quite easy to get into, and with a decent difficulty curve (occasionally very difficult), is Disciples 2. It's my alltime favorite fantasy tbs, and the game's intoxicating dark fantasy atmosphere has a lot to with it. From it you can also move onto the legendary which, on average, cranks up the difficulty level quite, uhm, substantially. There's also [url=http://www.gog.com/game/age_of_wonders]Age of Wonders to consider. Again a totally different fantasy atmosphere, and it has the best combat of the three imo.

If you you're interested in strategy games and like puzzle games, perhaps you'll also like a city builder game? My favorite on gog is Pharaoh.

Lastly, it's not on gog, yet, but it's the best point and click ever made, and once I come to power I'll decree that it's the best game ever made! :

and [url=https://www.gog.com/game/american_conquest]American conquest are very good strategy games where you need to build your military base and destroy your enemies.
If you're looking for adventures, try these:

Beneath a Steel Sky; Dragonsphere; Flight of the Amazon Queen; Primordia; Simon the Sorcerer I & II; Inherit the Earth; Toonstruck; Sam & Max Hit the Road; Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis; Zak McKracken and the Alien Mindbenders; Normality

And possibly The Last Express. Haven't played it myself, but I heard it's pretty good, not to mention it's on sale right now.

You might also want to take a look at Anachronox. That one's basically a JRPG in vein of Final Fantasy VII, but it also incorporates large adventure and puzzle elements.

As for strategy games, I always recommend Stronghold and Stronghold Crusader, which are two of my personal favourites in that genre. They do away with a lot of the more annoying elements of most RTS games, but still keep all the entertaining stuff.
Battle Realms is excellent as well; and one can never go wrong with Dungeon Keeper.
game recommendation?

Jade Empire.

Half-Life.

Marlow Briggs.

just off the top of my head. though Jade Empire is a game among games, just like Half-Life.
Just buy Sacrifice . You'll like it because you're into strategy, but you'd like it even if you weren't .

That would have been my first suggestion, too. You can check them out . And if you're unsure about them, most of them also have free [url=http://www.wadjeteyegames.com/games/]downloadable demos on the WadjetEye homepage.

Not if you build a wall of Multi-Barreled Cannons in Cossacks or have two hard AI allies vs 2 medium AIs in American conquest. :D

Generally speaking, you really can't go wrong with Lucasarts and Wadjet Eye adventures; with a few minor exceptions *cough*Resonance*cough*.

I think I should have a spare Steam key for the first Blackwell episode it you're interested.
