It's cool to see so many new demos on GOG!
So many games to try and so little time...

If I add these demos to my account, will they be available once they are pulled out from the store?

Yup, once they're added to the library they will stay in the library, even after their delisting from the GoG catalogue.

Thank you very much ^_^
Has anyone else run into a bug where the green "Pay for your order" button is grayed out? I added some demos and it says $0 but it won't let me complete the order for some reason.

I never ran into this issue, but I'd try updating the price by adding and removing something with a price from the cart

I manually removed a demo, and then manually added it again and that seemed to fix the problem. Thanks!

I'm glad that worked

Do you use Windows 7 64-bit by any chance?

Windows 10, why?

Oh. I'm using Win7 and I can't get that Sword of the Necromancer Demo to work. The demo returns a "The procedure entry point MFCreateDXGIDeviceManager could not be located in the dynamic link library MFPlat.DLL." error apparently. When I looked up the error code it seems to mean the game wasn't made to work on Win7.

Odd, seeing as the game itself says Win 7/8/8.1/10. But with no requirements listed for the demo, maybe that's different, because that function does seem to only be for Win 8+. There seems to be some way to use it in 7 and even Vista, but maybe tricky?

Yeah there's no way for it to work with Win7 with the current setup. I wonder if the game dev is aware of that.

Hi, i have found this, from the developer:

"That means you need to update or instal your Microsoft Windows Media Foundations. Basically, it's a problem with a video codec. We are using a video library to play a video in the final game (which is not in the demo, but the library still is). That library is supposed to come with Windows, so it shouldn't be giving that error.

If you keep pressing OK in the dialog that appears, you will be able to bypass the error and play the game.

Anyway, the real solution is the first one."

(here: https://steamcommunity.com/app/1243890/discussions/0/2439210491215786578/)

I installed the demo and just kept clicking Ok at the error popup until i entered the game. The demo is totally playable once you ignored the error.

Apparently, i have Windows 7 N version (had no idea until now lol!) which lacks Media Player pack functionalities (like the MS media foundation codec that Sword of the Necromancer needs in order to play videos) I also don't have Media Center, etc, but i never used or liked it so i never missed it.

I didn't try to install the pack to play the demo so i can't say the solution works as dev says. I can play the demo so it's all ok. Hope this helps.

Oh, and a lot of really nice demos here, thank you!

Edit: The Riftbreaker has 6 offline installers: 2 "exe", 2 "1.bin" and 2 "2.bin" all with same names and sizes except for the exes which show a bit difference: 841032 bits vs 842288 bits. Weird, but nothing new with some offline installers in other games.
