A smart person does not blame the messenger if the messenger reports a crime or a bad deed. If that was the case, a lot of crimes and bad deeds would go unreported. You have some twisted logic of blaming the messenger.

Is that a prequel to Cyberpunk 2077 by any chance? I didn't realize they were co-developing 2 back to back games for the Cyberpunk franchise in parallel but that's amazing news! :)

I just read the linked post and while I don't think that you were advocating piracy either by my reading of what you said, and instead just expressing an opinion (although I don't entirely agree with it as I bought the game and I'm in my right mind or at least I'm deluded to think I am <grin>).

Having said that though, I can also see how some people in the forums will take a post like that, make and infer things that aren't there based on assumptions of intent, etc. and that is often more commonly applied to people who are new to the scene and/or have low rep scores and/or have participated in controversial topics or had heated discussions previously. I don't know if any of that applies to you as your nick doesn't ring a bell to me but it is a common phenomenon in life itself and not just the Internet or GOG's forums that people who are more well known (for better or worse) or who have been around longer are often given more leaway with people's assumptions about their intentions etc. than people who are seen as a new outsider. This is even true for example in Novigrad and Oxenfurt, most of the rest of Velen, and the majority of Skellige as well.

It can take anywhere from a few days to weeks to months to get past that "He's not from 'round these parts that un..." stigma in any communication fora. Also, some people have hair triggers with making assumptions and judgments and then finger smashing the derep button too, heightened with existing low rep. Of course that's all personal opinion from my own observations and perception over time but that could be affected by my own biases perhaps too, hard to say. :)

All in all, I'm neutral on that front.

Besides, if you really think that is a problem then you should contact gog and not us, they're the ones that have to take action (if they intend to). You will have to help me here, 313 pages and i already search for words like "pirate" and "amrit9037" and come up with nothing.



Edit: Just something that i would like to add, just let it go this kind of stuff, i do understand your point in reporting these "deeds" but does it matter? I can sniff the nes alt accounts and i could report every single time but why bother? People keep throwing their keys into the wild without any precaution, not everyone checks the scammers thread, gog doesn't care about what happens in the forum and people say thing without thinking, like giving away (to a dumb person) what identifies him.

Stalk the gog forums for code drop ins, quickly get them.
Enter pretty much every triple A title giveaway.
Leave a few posts here and there to make it look like "participation in the forum".
Pretend to be innocent when caught red handed on gog torrent sites for torrenting games.
