Hi,

Why are free DLCs not automatically added for the owners of the games they relate to? It's really annoying to play a game and after some time find on GOG that there were free addons available, you just didn't know.If it's not possible for whatever the reason (license requiring clicking? IDK...), then at least send us a mail: 'hey, you got this game and there's free stuff for you, visit GOG and get it!' would be nice.

Cheers!

Not everyone will want free DLCs. Some are language packs, useless to people who don't speak the language. Some are adding items that ruin game balance early. Some are HD texture packs and people may be running it on their toaster.
I meant just adding them to your library, but I get your point - maybe someone doesn't even want to have it there.
Fine then, how about "free DLCs" mail subscription option?
Hmmm... Nah...

Though i WOULD take a option when you go to download it where it says 'oh by the way we have free DLC, want to add them to your library?' and you can check the ones you want, which then will be there to download right away when you start downloading the game...
Plus some free DLC unlocks unrated/adult content and that could really get them in hot water.

Automatically added to your account doesn't force you to download and play it.
It would be a good way to avoid to miss/forget some of them.

It would be a good way to enrage those who are already annoyed about not being able to delete games from their libraries that they no longer want for whatever reason. Under no circumstances should GOG just add stuff without asking. Maybe some kind of notification that DLCs exist would be feasible, and then you can act on that or not, but I think a simpler solution is just to be less oblivious. I have a hard time imagining a case where I'm buying a game but have no idea what addons/DLCs are available. The list is right there on the store page.
The only things I want to remove from my collection are demos. Demos should have the refund option permanently enabled. Yes, I know they're free but they could still be removed that way, right? :)

At least we have the option to hide the demos, but yeah, it would be nice to be able to delete it from the library.
.
Most games in my experience here, show you the DLCs on the games's store page, on the right, usually with the price.

Other than that, it pays to regularly visit the following to see what free items are available at GOG.

https://www.gog.com/games?priceRange=0,0

A checkbox on that page can limit what is shown, to just DLCs and extras.

KoЯni: I meant just adding them to your library,
GOG Galaxy installs all owned DLC. They can be selectively uninstalled afterwards, but I see no way to avoid the unnecessary download and SSD writes (other than not owning unwanted DLC in the first place).

The only thing that's needed here is a way to list all unowned DLC for all owned games.
Show if games in your library have unpurchased dlc available
I kind of get it. Perhaps they could put a list of the DLCs you could potentially add, both paid and free to the checkout. It could provide a balance with what you are looking for.
This could create problems for people that install through Galaxy.

All those big boobie girl games have DLCs that make them go from being censored pervy games to outright adult.

Trying to save hard drive space? Too bad. You're installing all five language packs with Neverwinter Nights even if you don't understand any of those languages.

Kingdom Come has a voice and language packs that can eat up hard drive space, a texture pack that increases the system requirements, German, and French.

Maybe someone wants to play Sherlock Holmes Chapter One but thinks that running around as a plague doctor would ruin the game.

The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel 3 has a free swimsuit DLCs. Maybe some people feel like running around in swimsuits ruins JRPGs and doesn't want them in the first place.

ΔV: Rings of Saturn's free texture pack increases the system requirements from "Intel UHD 630, 2GB VRAM" to requiring "6 GB VRAM" which is a huge jump.

Better yet, they should be a separate category of item that can be downloaded without adding them to one's library. I'm not sure there's a good reason one should have to do that for demos in the first place.

No, the checkbox is to show/hide DLCs and extras; there is no way I know of (on site, without resorting to user scripts) to only show DLCs & extras.

Just be less oblivious and have a - I hope not so hard - time imaging that some free DLCs are added *after* the game premiere on GOG (or may become free after some time of being paid). Periodically visiting every store page of my 850+ games collection to look for suggested free DLCs is not a feasible solution.

I get that the automatic addition of the new free DLCs to the library might not be wanted / possible, for many reasons stated in this topic already. But I would really like to see an option for notification of such events. And it could be just an option, those not interested can keep it disabled.

Nice one, thanks, but I only see option to *hide* DLCs and extras. A reverse of what would be helpful - although only to a degree, still requiring to visit that page periodically and go through many DLCs for games I don't own.
