Ha! Today I learned GOG is selling nsfw games. And I don't mean Larry and Lula but legitimate pornographic stuff. "Being a Dik" lol... I find this amusing.

dedoporno: Speaking of hearing from people, has anyone heard from GR in the past few months?
avatar
my name is anime catte: No. When he disappeared just before a game and had to be replaced I sent him a message, but I never heard back. I thought perhaps he'd been banned, but who knows?
Yep I also reached out to him in PMs a few times, to no avail. I hope he's alright.

Like dedo said I hope someone can contact him some way, at least so we can know he's alive.

FrostburnPhoenix: Pretty sure TinyE's account isn't currently banned. I Saw in an old thread that someone being refered to as TinyE was currently called FloridaSucks and the same account was posting at the time.
I miss tinyE. He was a fun dude who could take a joke — in fact he joked about himself more than anyone else. But not everyone liked him because if you couldn't take a joke he would keep pushing that button.

As far as I know he is indeed banned, can PM but doesn't frequent Gog forums too much anymore, and sometimes comes in to silently read what we've been up to.

MarkoH01 is a fan of that game. His descriptions have at least got me interested in it, tho not enough that I'd pass games from other genres I like more to buy it anytime soon.

Yeah, I miss him too. As far as I know his ban is indefinite, so as you say he rarely comes back here these days.

What's so amusing about it? Such games are very serious ;)

I tried one such game recently purely out of curiosity of course. And to my surprise I find that type of games more dangerous than access to 24/7 library of porn movies. I was *sucked* into a stupid game for a whole day and I can't say it was a relaxing experience I usually get from any other video game.

I respect Gabe Newell's approach to provide a variety of different games on Steam but I persoanally would prefer to not having those on GOG. But who knows maybe adult games will save the DRM-free empire from any danger of collapse in the end.

If I were in control of Steam or GOG, I would create separate store branches for AO games with a possibility to use same or different accounts at will.

Me too, I think TinyE procured genuinely good and funny jokes. I don't know why exactly he got harsch on some people which in turn lead to his permaban. But at least he will always be remembered by some GOG users.

I hope he is doing okay.

I've also PMd him. I know he had high stress levels shortly before he disappeared. I mostly regret not pursuing a conversation that I pout off because "there's always tomorrow".
Last time I have a PM from GR was 11th of March, 2022. He mentioned his HDD fail and nothing about stress lately. However some time before he mentioned some issues which could have some consequences in his life. Unfortunately I can't tell more without breaking his privacy. If he is not back this year I'll probably leave GOG forum. He was the last person with whom I had any conversations.

Bummer. I know very well what it feels like.
However, be aware that there's also no guarantee that if you had talked to him things would be different.

GR had his share of tight spots in life so I have some idea of things that could hinder his online availability, like a failing computer part or some more personal stuff. Never to this extent, but... Anyway I hope it's just a row of minor setbacks that is keeping him away.

Speaking of you I hope you don't leave, and certainly not for lack of good conversation. There's still a lot of amazing people around and sometimes I get the chance to discover the less public side of someone like GR and it has always been worth the time spent in conversation.
We'll see about that.

True, but it was a great chance for that as we were both interested in the topic, and he said he would be willing to talk anytime. But stuff happened and we never did.

GR and I had our Mafia chat on Discord for the Shining game. I sent him a message there about two or three days ago with no response, and I expected nothing more to be honest. He forgot about using Discord even while that game was ongoing.

Speaking of NSFW games, I welcome them with wide open arms. I already have HuniePop with the uncensor patch, and that game actually made it to GOG eons ago. But let's be honest, those uncanny valley NSFW games I used to see on itch.io and there they kind of just works, you accept them as part of the experience, but I don't think they do on GOG. Maybe there's extremely high production value behind these games' awkward "real but also kinda not real" 3D graphics, but I just don't see them.

Then again, sex sells, so maybe these games actually sell like pancakes when you put a DRM-FREE sticker on them? I don't know.
But aren't most of them DRM free on itch anyhow? Or on Patreon. But apparently they sell well here. Otherwise their number wouldn't increase so significantly.

Oh yeah, you remind me of something I talked about with catte. While I thought that PC DRM-free storefronts don't have much luck surviving against Steam, catte pointed out they don't have much luck against GOG either. itch.io is a pretty good site all things considered, but you essentially go there for the indie games that would be drowned by AAAs on Steam, their mega bundles for various causes (BLM, Palestine, LGBTQ+ but mostly transgender support, Ukraine), etc, but it's still pretty hard to get visibility there.

I'm friends with a dev who complained about receiving $1,000 in revenue from Steam, but what was left as profit was a literal fraction of that. The fun part is, there were no sales on itch.io for that game, even though both versions were advertised.

It may be that these games hit the jackpot with the GOG curation and now benefit from having the eyeballs of its relatively larger audience. Couple it with the fact they're now actively advertising NSFW games and for years this category of games didn't have much of a presence to fill the demand here.

Apparently, as I just saw in my activity feed that one of my GOG friends just hit a milestone of 300 hours of gameplay a couple of days ago. The gameplay must be enthralling.

It is actually a fun game, if you like match-3 games. But 300 hours is a lot!
