Hunter65536: Too bloodthirsty for me, guess I’m a peacenik after all.

@hsl sorry to step on your play style but could you be more verbose about what you’d want to point out in games #25 and #30? I’ve gone through #30 but I’m still confused regarding the point you were trying to make.

@trent What do you think about mchack?

As of now I am a bit wary of adalia & dedo (seems like they’re reaching while arguing against mchack, adalia’s remark about kryspyn’s haphazard voting as consistent but I ain’t an expert so I’ll defer to better judgement), sage & Leonard (seems like they’re trying to fly under the radar) and kryspyn (haphazard voting and kryptic posting)
Grouped players by reasons and not by scum teams or some such.

avatar
trentonlf: So what are your thoughts on flub and Sage pertaining to this game?
avatar
Hunter65536: What are your own thoughts about them?
When I went to bed last night I had mchack leaning as acting pretty scummy, but after reading the exchanges from him this morning my thinking has changed. He has brought up many valid points in his defense during his discussion with adalia and dedo and I now see him more as a townie defending himself. I also still have adalia as town and think him and mchack are two townies butting heads. As for dedo I’m not sure, he’s so reasonable it’s hard for me to get a read on him.

As for Sage I’m dissapointed that she seems to have disappeared from the game and has not really contributed much when she’s been here. I know she has a lot going on in RL, but I still want more from her in game because it almost feels like she’s scum trying to float by on Day 1

As for flub I still have an idea why he’s acting the way he is. He’s a very smart player and if he was truly scum there’s no way he would want to be lynched. It screams to me that he’s town vanilla and is sacrificing himself Day 1, and if that’s truly the case I wish he would try and help find scum instead. If he’s really scum then I’m perplexed as to what he’s doing.

Krypsyn is also another very smart player and I’m concerned with his lack of response to the game in general. He has made no significant attempt to engage anyone or respond to given situations other than to randomly vote or post a vote count.

So as of right now I have no desire to vote adalia, mchack, or flub. But I am more than happy to vote just about anyone else.

Bookwyrm627: I don't think I understand. Please elaborate.
avatar
dedoporno: Pretty sure a hacker won't end up being the lynch, so it's either a Townie or scum. If it's scum we're golden, but if it's Townie, despite it's generally bad for us, it leaves the scum with fewer good targets for conversion.
This feels odd to me.

If anything, I'd think the non-lynched player would actually reduce scum's chances of hitting correctly (killing a hacker). I find it a little hard to imagine scum being confident enough to risk dying on N1, instead of just murdering the boop out of someone.

Of course, maybe people out themselves enough to take the chance even on D1.

Bookwyrm627: [...] ZFR needs to die, or am I mistaken?
avatar
HypersomniacLive: I don't think I follow. Please elaborate. Especially in relation to my post #212 you kind of quoted.
I'm disinclined to acquiesce to your request.

Feel free to ask another question instead, or you may request a refund.

avatar
ZFR: I'm seriously not sure what the correct "protocol" is here. Better not to pick anyone and wait?
Depends on who you ask. Some of us are definitely in the "Vote Early, Vote Often" camp, while others prefer to wait until later.

avatar
adaliabooks: I'm always happy to accept volunteers on day 1.
avatar
flubbucket: And yet you're voting Bookwyrm627??
...What? Did you mistype, or did I miss something?

avatar
adaliabooks: No, he wasn't wildly speculating. He very clearly suggested the reason you might be defensive was because you had a PR.
Asking the question at all could only have one purpose, to suggest that was an alternative reason for your behaviour.
Counter example: HSL could have been questioning whether Dedo was scum trying to set someone up to be lynched.

avatar
dedoporno: Leonard, Sage, Flub, Krypsyn and ZFR.
Eh
Eh
Eh
New guy won't kill yet
***I feel like the shittiest player ever. I am sorry I have not been able to get on. I have today free and will catch up. If I can not get caught up by tonight I will ask to be replaced. It is only fair to everyone else in the game. I have drs appointment at 1130am and then i am free to catch up.**

There is no escaping the night kills, so there isn't much use in talking about that. The conversion can be affected at least somewhat, though, and that was what i was referring to. Whether or not conversions on N1 are likely to be attempted is a different topic.

Maybe this is me because I have not caught up yet. But, isnt talking about what might happen during night one a little moot as we do not have anything to go on as in a night hasnt happened yet. So talking about it is going to muddy the waters to day 1. Which is what we all should be working on and not taking away from at the moment?

This is a follow up on the "no-lynch on D1" discussion we had a couple of days ago. But sure, let's not muddy the waters. Now that you're here (maybe after your appointment), please participate towards this goal:

dedoporno: So far it seems adalia, mchack, HSL and myself are mostly keeping the conversation going. I'd like to hear what's the opinion on the matter of Leonard, Sage, Flub, Krypsyn and ZFR.
OK, my thoughts on players:

_dedoporno - for a fleeting moment earlier you did something that made me think you're scum. But I can't put my finger on it, even after reading back your posts I'm not sure what it is, if anything.

_adaliabooks, mchack - "suspicious because they talk too much" category.

On the other end of the spectrum there are (suspiciuos becaue they talk to little):
_Krypsyn - only counts and votes (#2 on who I'd vote for after adalia).
_Sage - hasn't said much either. He barely made one post or two.

_Bookwyrm - I thought he talked too much at first, but he hasn't appeared lately.

_Trent, Hunter, Leonard - really not sure what to make of them. Nothing out of the ordinary one way or another.

_Flubbucket - I've met these type of people (that purposely or not act weird). Not sure what it could mean.

_HSL - asks too many questions. Makes him slightly suspicious. But could be genuine. Again, I don't know enough about him to make a decision.

Other thoughts/questions:

_Members of a team (scum 1, scum 1, hackers) will probably want to distance themselves. Can they overdo it? Again, thinking Resistance here, when two players are at each other's throats, they're probably both spies).

_Are the hackers powerful enough to prevent a mislynch against one of their own? Someone (adalia?) has touched on this point, but I can't see the mathematics behind it.

And, a final thought:

I haven't played with any of you before, which is why I don't have really any reads on any of you. But I can see one thing: I can see how you react to newbies.
And to be honest, statements like these...
avatar
ZFR: No. There were others too.
Picking him relates to my second point: I have to pick somebody. He's as good as any.

But it's not set in stone. I'd be happy to pick someone else if they act scummier. I'm seriously not sure what the correct "protocol" is here. Better not to pick anyone and wait?
avatar
adaliabooks: I think you're doing just fine.
Make me highly suspicious. Because when I read it, I saw myself doing exactly the same thing to newbies when playing Resistance. "You're doing great" I'd say as a spy to a newbie resistance member. "Don't let others bully you. You're doing a great job" I tell them while I smile to myself.

And few others here have gone easy on the newbie too. Only HypersomniacLive was not giving the newbie any leniency, which to be honest makes me less suspicious of him.

But seeing how adalia knows me a lot from these forums and we are friends. And how in all other games, you do want to be encouraging to newbies who join you the first time, it could be really genuine on his part. I'm not sure how meta we are supposed to go in this game.

Just my 2 cents.

When talking about night actions, then conversions are absolutely affected by the possibility of night kills since the two can't be used together. This is what confused me about your original statements here; why would scum even try to convert tonight instead of just murdering someone?

Thanks I will try my hardest to help. =) Look I know ive been a shitty player, However I have been trying hard to get on and feel like shit that I have not been able to as much as I should of. I am however trying hard to get caught back up and help. I feel the love... meow. =)

____________-------

For dedo- I will muddy the waters now with past shit that I want to point out or comment on. Up to page 7 out of 10 in the game.

flubbucket: ZFR is getting my looks.
avatar
trentonlf: Is it because he is a love child of yours?
Fishing for the masons? No a townie thing to do day one.

avatar
adaliabooks: Krypsyn is voting who ever has the most votes. He's not all over the place in any way, in fact he's probably the most consistent person in the game so far. As I said earlier this is the kind of thing I'd expect from him regardless of alignment.
Krypsen maybe consistent in voting so far (2 days ago as im catching up) However, I do not see much but voting the one with the most votes. How is that helping town at all. To me its more a I could care less who is lynched as long as its someone and we can move onto night.

avatar
adaliabooks: No, I'm fairly sure Hunter used to have an eye too, with some kind of little gremlin thing in the corner
avatar
Hunter65536: Ah that was quite a while ago forgot about it myself, had it sometime during the last insomnia sale. You and Leonard seem to have good memory, too good to be human.
Is there a reason we were talking about profile pics? The only one I have ever known to change their pic for the game is Flub.

/Waves at Flub. I see your pic and it does remind me of a drink the special juice and all will be ok. Is there a comet coming through I dont know about?

avatar
Hunter65536: Played only a couple of games so it may not be accurate but this is how it goes imo
*Day 1 starts*
Random votes for random reasons
Someone starts posting seriously
Someone else joins and says something which catches attention of people
People start piling on person above and if he defends successfully then it’s back to previous step
Else he gets lynched and his flip(town or scum) is used on day 2 to examine their wagon
*day 1 ends*
Yeah thats basically how it is but don't spoil the fun of trying like hell to get the right lynch day one.

avatar
flubbucket: This is true.

Wifey took my two veggies over twenty years ago whilst I slept. Of course she made sure the other kept working (for her distinct pleasure, the savage). She then destroyed the evidence so as to absolve herself of culpability. "You must have lost them somewhere." The cat stares at me with stoic apathy knowing he has suffered the same war crime for no reason other than speciesism. He chants CAT LIVES MATTER, but we can't understand him. While we may commiserate together, I'm certain he would help her kill me if he were forced to make a choice.
Flub you sir are a jewel hidden in a sea of boring and normal (not in context of the game) This made me giggle out loud and wonder if my husband also feels the same way and if he and the cats are plotting some sick and twisted revenge for their presence of manhood back. Though he lost his swimmers before me. But I did have the cats join his ranks.
Sheesh. While typing I was ninjaed by like a zillion posts. When I started post #282 was the latest.

If I was scum and my partner was lynched Day 1 I would probably take the chance and convert someone N1
avatar
adaliabooks: ...particularly as the two scum teams may actively try not to kill each other N1 as their chances may be better with 4 scum and 6 town then 2 scum and 8 town, or 3 scum and 7 town).
avatar
mchack: And how would they do that? actively try not to kill each other? breadcrumb or claim scum? :D
This is more for adlia. So the scum teams know who the other scum teams are?

And ZFR - well I am honored to be considered a fellow male player. I however, am female. The last I checked at least. And my boobs do come in handy from time to time with the opposite sex, they seem to mesmerize them from time to time for some reason. I tend to think it is the bonce that lores their vision in and then the blood leaves the brain and leaves them thinking with out the brain as much as other aspects of the male gender =) /being a smart ass

This seems like the point where I'd usually post the Gucci Mane meme, but it seems that joke has ran it's course. How time flies...

Bookwyrm627: -----

I will not be voting for Adalia today, unless he manages to do something outrageously scummy.
So does this mean he has done something that moves him into town for you? If so would you like to share?

avatar
adaliabooks: Just be glad he's not posting only in video links...
If he persists for more than 1 day then I'd definitely vote him, but on day 1 I'll let him have his fun as at least it keeps the game moving.
So voting for however has the most votes is a good way to go on day one?

Unvote Krypsen vote adilabooks

Though I am happy with my kypsen vote too so may go back to it as my catching up goes.

avatar
HypersomniacLive: Not sure I follow, why out of 11?
avatar
ZFR: Well, you're not going to vote for yourself.

avatar
HypersomniacLive: Reason(s)?
avatar
ZFR: _My first gut feeling. Based on my experience with Resistance, you talk a lot you're scum. Adalia seems to talk a lot. Really nothing solid against him, but:
_No-lynch is worse then lynch. Someone has to be lynched. At this moment for me adaliabooks is as good as any.
I beg to differ on the talking aspect. Scums best play in my opinion is to play 100% as if they were town which means hunting and watching what is said with a fine tooth comb. I do agree that a no lynch is not a good idea at all.

*up to post 209 I have to leave now but I will be back and back on as soon as I get home*
