Let's start with the crunchy bits:
1) Do not quote your PM. Paraphrasing is fine, let's just not quibble over specific words. Although I will stipulate that you may quote the name/faction/role line if you wish. So if I called one person Town and another Townie, have at it, no guarantee I've been consistent.
2) Do not edit your posts. You are not allowed to whitewash a mistake you may have made. Since the forum merges consecutive posts made within 10 minutes of each other, make sure you wait at least that long before posting again. The edit elves are a nefarious bunch. There WILL be consequences for all editing mistakes. You have been warned...
3) I want a fairly active game. You are generally expected to make at least one post each day, but this is not written in stone. People do have real lives and may occasionally be gone for a couple days. Let us know in advance, and that's great. People also do fun things on weekends, so I'll do my best to schedule day and night ends for weekdays and avoid as many vacations as possible. But, please don't be that guy who barely posts, is absent on lynch day and half the players forget you are in the game. Even if you feel you have nothing to add, at least make it known you are reading and listening. Your fellow players will appreciate it.

Sample Town PM

You have hit hard times lately hence why you are taking the chance to appear on this show this year. Last year over half the contestants actually died as opposed to the usual fake death of being voted off the island. No idea how the show let that serial killer through the vetting process and that's not even mentioning the gang members...

Rwarehall – Bruce (Town Former God)
You were once all-powerful, but now not so much. So much for your God-like powers, you can't even avoid getting your pockets picked. Or did you drop it somewhere? Or maybe you are some loser cheapskate who didn't have the money in the first place.

God – Day or night you may make any conceivable action. You can do anything!

Former – Haha, ok not really. You can think of doing anything, but the result is nothing!

You win when all enemies of the town have been eliminated.

Seventeen little Indian Boys chopping up sticks;
RWarehall chopped himself in halves and then there were sixteen.

Sixteen Little Indian Boys making a scene
CSPVG got his head cut off and then there were fifteen.

Fifteen Little Indian Boys eating coconut creme
Agentcarr16 tried to eat too much and now there are fourteen.

Fourteen Little Indian Boys YouTubing a dream
Krypsyn didn't see the guillotine coming, now there are thirteen.

Thirteen Little Indian Boys thinking about themselves
Yogsloth wanted to be dryer, and then there were twelve.

Welcome to the 7th season of “Murder They Wrote”, I'm Bagatha Crustie, your host and this year the theme is “Seventeen Little Indians” based loosely on the novel also known as “And Then There Were None” by yours truly. We are here on a small island where stands a spooky haunted mansion. What do the ghostly denizens have in store for our contestants? Will some chicken out and leave of their own volition? Of course there is also the daily “vote off the island” where when a majority agrees, someone is getting the boot. Our contestants don't “have to” vote anyone off, but how often does that happen?

Especially since there is money to win! Each of our contestants have brought 10 grand with them. Should they leave or get booted off the island they forfeit it for the benefit of the remaining contestants.

Here come our contestants now...
1) Hijack
2) Trentonlf
3) Adaliabooks
4) JMich
5) HypersomniacLive
6) Flubbucket
7) Agentcarr16 - Death by coconut cream pies on Night 1 – Gregory [House] (Town Traumatized Doctor) [$10,000]
8) Lifthrasil
9) CSPVG - Kicked off the island Day 1 - [Gray] Mouser (Scum Pickpocket) [$10,000]
10) Yogsloth - Death by Clothes Dryer on Night 2 - [Sgt] Schultz (Town Cop) [no money]
11) Mchack
12) Krypsyn - Kicked off the island Day 2 - Fezzik (Scum Thug) [$10,000]
13) Sage103082
14) Dedoporno
15) Cristigale
16) BlueMooner
17) RWarehall - "Dead" Day 0 - Bruce [Nolan-Almighty] (Town Former God) [no money]

As you get off the boat, please wave to your adoring fans and show our assistants your buy-in.
[As each contestant reaches the end of the dock and displays their wad of cash, the assistants wave them by, until...they reach the last contestant]

RWarehall, please show us your buy-in...
"But...but...I had it when I got on the boat! Someone robbed me!"
As he's checking his jacket and pockets...
"I'm sorry, no pay, no play!"

The assistants carry him off...
We have our first casualty...

Given the number of players, and looking at planned absences, and the Holiday weekend for many of us,
the first Day Deadline will be...
Monday night September 14th at Midnight EDT (UTC -4)

(I know I said 5 days, but I'll make some accommodations. If you don't like it, lynch someone quickly!)

I certainly hope you are joking. What would be the point of announcing such a significant role right at the start? Are you looking for night protection already for some reason? You make me shake my head in wonderment.
Yogs and trent clashing already, that was quick.
Yep.
And it's on! :D Yay I'm so excited. And a Mass Claim on the way already this gets better and better... now what was I again *searching through pm* Oh. ok :)

Come on yogs, don't poke the trent....
Didn't you see the signs? ;)

I'm curious as to what the point of this was, obviously it could just be a joke, but it's one that's bound to draw attention, and not just from trent...

Anyway in the spirit of RVS (for the newbie, that's Random Voting Stage, we have nothing to go on so we just vote randomly for now)
Vote agentcarr

This vote is brought to you by the good people of random.org

Really? It seems I didn't get the memo.

Thanks.
And once more, yogsloth starts the game by giving me a reason to watch him. Not sure about voting him just yet though, but it's never that difficult to convince me about it.

Well ok, "one" isn't really a "mass" but who knows what will enfold in this loong first day. :)
I asked this in the other thread, and I'll ask again here for feedback, what do you think of roleplaying? Is it fun, or would it annoy you? Should I just play and post as me, BlueMooner, or should I be a greedy gameshow contestant, with different persona, and possibly catchphrases? The OP asks us to introduce ourselves as we get off the boat, but nobody's done that. So what do people think?

BlueMooner: I asked this in the other thread, and I'll ask again here for feedback, what do you think of roleplaying?
I generally am against it, since I find it better to always play as the same person. Roleplaying your role or persona can lead to inconsistencies in your playing style, which can be seen as a sign that something is different from your usual play. If your flavor is DEA agent for example, so you attempt to sound like Hank Schrader (Jesus Christ Marie! They're Minerals!), it may help scum identify your role. So best to not roleplay.

Then again, people play the game to have fun. If roleplaying your role is more fun for you than not roleplaying, by all means, do roleplay.
Here to check in after a long arduous week of biochemistry studying and a few shots and beers (if you can call this American shit beer; where's my Carlsberg?) A bit euphoric, but otherwise good. No chicks tonight so that sucked. Why is it so hard to get into parties with a sausage? Damn sexism. Just kidding. Or not. In any case, Labor day weekend, so quite a bit of stuff going on. What's up with you folks?

Also, I don't usually engage in RVS, but I gotta vote JMich for suspecting me last game.... in spite of being right.
