Can you fix searching please? When I search for something on the forums, spaces get replaced with "%20", thus I get no results.

While I second this notion, I also wouldn't hold my breath until a better search function gets implemented, if I were you.
May result in an untimely death. ;)

You're usually better off using external search engines.
Just add the appropriate search terms (e.g.: GOG, forum, [what exactly you're looking for], etc).

Also I wanted to know how the achievements work for GoG, but there seems to be no information for that. I'm interested whether they are public (like Steam) or private (like Blizzard).

Did you try to look at the accounts while being logged off?
That may be a reason.
If so - try again, while logged in.

I don't use Galaxy (which, to my understanding, is needed to make use of achievements (other than pure in-game achievements)), so I can't really help you there.
Maybe Galaxy has a feature to set your achievements visibility to either "public", "only visible for friends" and "private - only I can see my achievements"?
Comparable to how you can set the visibility for your account/wishlist?

Did you change your avatar very recently?
That could cause that.
It can take a few hours until the new avatar shows in public.

Cannot launch GoG Galaxy since re-install. Windows 8.1 running as Admin..
No posted solutions worked for me so far.
Application fails to elevate token to set user permissions for the Temp folders it creates, according to Logs. I am thinking an install problem or default fails install for the temp files not being written.
It does blink quickly twice in the install process, but finishes.

Diablo here on GOG says it's only available for Windows. If you want to play it on a Mac, you either need Wine, its variants, or a source port/wrapper for Diablo, if any exists.

I don't remember seeing staff member ever discussing the matter publicly. Still, a few users, myself included, have been proposing using open source forum softwares from GitHub and the like, or even migrating to their blog system (which btw, they seldom mention nowadays).

It doesn't have to be FOSS platform (though, it seems those are usually better) but uhmm... the current forum stoftware is simply awful...
