We’d like to inform you that, due to developer's decision, For the King will be delisted from our catalog on Wednesday, May 26th, 3pm UTC.

For everyone who purchased it prior to delisting, it will remain in their GOG library.

No wonder, judging by the recent reviews.

The king is dead, so worship me!

P.S.: To those who were apparently irked by my musical reference: I have not played the game, nor do I have any position regarding the delisting. It just reminded me of the song :P.

AND we are missing all DLCs by now. Good it gets tossed out. Luckily I never bothered to look at it.

What's this about "not DRM-free"?

DRM? Good riddance then. Glad I had not bought it.

Some publishers just don't get it. DRM = no sale (to me, can't vouch for others).

Great. Just f***ing great...
Another company that had a nice behaviour towards GOG users in the past and now turn their backs on us (while farting in our general direction). Sad, but not unexpected, news.

You can vouch for me on that last part for sure.

However, the DRM that people discussed in reviews was, seemingly, fixed in version 1.0.14.10109 which is an update that came out after the update that added the title screen freezing DRM.

However, I do see a review mentioning that in newer versions, you apparently can't cross-play with Scheme users, even though you could originally. That is multiplayer DRM for those that care.

I doubt it's the case in this situation, but GOG isn't always doing itself or us favors in this regard.

How to properly curate your catalog:

- Accept games with almost zero interest from the community (you know, those people who buy games here);

- Remove these games after a year or two because nobody wants to buy them here and the publishers / developers obviously don't want to keep supporting non-profit versions of their games;

- Don't draw any conclusions from such situations;

- Repeat again and again and again and again...

And again.

Congratulations, you are breathtaking!

Another game that I'd planned on buying here... gone.

And just the other day I asked the devs if the new DLC would be on GOG soon... ugh

It's not gone yet but we obviously aren't getting any add-ons.

Yes, but I already own the game on PS4 (another platform which has not gotten the aforementioned DLC)...

... and...

... as much as I enjoy the game, it's not worth more than $10...

... so I was waiting on a sale... and even had planned on giving it to a few people I know.

Oh well... don't think I'll pay $20 at this point just to have a DRM-free copy.

Don't be so quick to blame the devs....if what others have told me about GOG is true(that they treat some partners well and others like dirt, like: making some pay listing fees and others not, updating the games with updates some partners provide quickly and others not so much...etc etc) then it could be just another partner whom GOG treated like crap that's trying to cut ties.
