Recently firefox has been asking me to donate to them at their home page, hence I am checking out their background.

Doing a quick search I find I miss out the news regarding all the rage about Firefox new CEO who invented Javascript only lasted for 11 days because he make a donation on antigay activities 6 years ago.

While that had been an interesting read, I am not disscussing about gay rights as there are enough such disscussion going around the internet.

What I want to highlight is we had been fooled and used for some people personal gain.

OkCupid, a dating site which is the spearhead for the movement against the New CEO has used and make a fool out of the people.

The co-funder of OKCupid, Sam Yagan had make a donation to a anti gay politiction in the past.

So it is ok that OKCupid called for blood on Eich because he make a donation on anti gay movement in the pass, while its own Co-Funder and CEO of Match.com, OkCupid’s parent company, is guilty of the same thing?

One thing I notice its mostly towards Gay Males.

You don't see this attitude towards Lesbians. People sees 2 Straight girls kissing in the mouth and most guys say, "Wow that is hot" But have 2 males kiss and they riot in disgust. Unless the males happens to look extremely effeminate and get "Wow thats hot" from Yaoi fan girls :P

Technically "homophobia" would mean fear of sameness, so that's a moot point. Anyway, what's wrong with discrimination? To discriminate literally means to differentiate and we do it all the time. If you apply for a job your potential employer will discriminate you against other applicants based on your qualification. When you make friends you discriminate against people based on their personality. When looking for someone to perform a service you discriminate based on their offer. Athletes are discriminated based on their physical performance. And so on.

There is nothing wrong with discrimination of people in certain contexts. The point of proposition 8 was not to discriminate against homosexuals, because they are discriminated all the time in every way just as everyone else. The point was to disallow same-sex marriage. And there is a point to be made about it because same-sex couples cannot reproduce. If you don't like that fact go complain to God, Darwin, the Flying Spaghetti Monster or whatever you believe in. Treating people differently because they are different where is matters is not a crime.

Question: why do I know the sexual orientation of the CEO of Apple? Did anyone really ask for it? How does that help the company make better computers? No one needed to know, but Tim Cook had to make it public and brag about how much money he has donated to the gay lobby. But he's definitely not an activist. That's the most recent example I can think of.
