FF7 was a game I used to misplace a lot, and I have no idea where it is now. Never managed to get it working well, either. Perhaps this will be an opportunity to try it again. And hey, I hope they're implementing tifa saves too.
Have to admit the achievements + cloud features really give the impression the Steam release may push through after all (considering it entered the registry ages ago).

Certainly a conservative pricing, though I'd be pleasantly surprised if it was €9.99 (same as the PSN price I think).

I'd certainly be getting it right away.
"Whois History: 14 records have been archived since 2008-11-30 . "

Hmn, not sure what to make of that. Definitely not an entirely new domain name though.
Reads like an always online browser thing to me.
Never understood all the hubbub about FFVII. I thought IV and VI were far better.

Played the original VII for the PC way back when, barely forced myself to finish it, and I didn't even go around hunting down Weapons or Knights of the Round.

Then they wouldn't charge for it, they'd hit you with microtransactions.
I would much rather a FFVIII PC re-release. Preferably on GOG. it was always a pain swapping those disks.
Sounds like a Steam-effed release, or at the least DRM-laden, the way it sells achievements and cloud saves (which, to me, are detriments even if they're not tied to a specific system).
Stop reading into cloud saves.

It just means they are saves with Cloud in them!

They were.

Sadly, this was the first console RPG for an entire generation of gamers. So they give the game a huge popularity base, despite not even being half the game the earlier six games were.

How exactly? Assuming you don't care for them, how exactly do they negatively affect you?

I have to admit it was my first RPG...
Anyway what is it that you don't like about it? Writing is quite nice, battle system was ok, forced 3d on 2d backgrounds were not though.

My first final fantasy game was 10. I really don't remember what my first rpg was but If I guessed it would've been pokemon yellow.

My main gripes of final fantasy 7 was the supposed villain "Sethiroth", the materia system, the declining difficulty after disk 1, and I guess Yuffie. It's a good game none the less but incredibly overrated.

Er...what's wrong with Sepiroth?
Materia system was good idea, that had mediocre realization. Nevertheless pairing all with something was always good idea :P
Yuffie? You couldn't catch her or...?

I found him boring. Don't really see the appeal in him.
I guess it's just me but I really didn't like the materia system after some point.
Oh I got her...I just wished I left her. She's really just there in the game and doesn't contribute that much of anything. She just sits there in the background with your other characters, hell she just wastes your time throughout the game.

I guess those are trivial complaints coming from me but I really found the game boring after disk one.
