"Final Fantasy VII and VIII are on Steam - but will likely never see release"

I just found out about this, very interesting. I always thought the last thing they'd want to do is re-release these games on PC, but it looks like they made a legitimate effort to do so. The only thing that seemed to stop them is technical problems.

Well, I'm a little more optimistic on those games showing up on GOG if we wind up getting Square-Enix in the future.
On the contrary, I am more pessimistic : I believe that Eidos and Lucasarts are two editors we will not see on GoG before long

Edit : I wanted to write SquareEnix instead of Eidos but my hand is independent from the rest of my leg. Even though it does not make any difference since Eidos was purchased by SqEn

Peoples said that about EA less than a month ago.
Maybe GOG can dangle this carrot at Square Enix. "We can get this fixed for you. Of course you would have to allow us to have first release and exclusivity for 6 months."

Gilou: Eidos
I hope against hope ;_;
I personally would love to see those games here on GoG. FF7 got me pinned to the monitor for months :)
Steam... I fucking Hate you
Wait...so why they wont publish it? Except technical problems of course :)

You'd be saying the same thing at square and steam if they released those crappy ports.

I correct my statement : I did not mean Eidos but SquareEnix (which owns GoG).

Edit : I correct my correction, It is Eidos that belongs to SqEn

Um, no... yeah, technical problems, that's really the only reason. Though "technical problems" is putting it lightly. The games (as is) simply will not run on modern machines.

(owns GOG? :P)

I know. But only Eidos interests me from SE deal.

Wait, what? Square Enix owns Eidos. CDProjekt owns GOG. You're confusing me even more now.

Ok I am really tired and that explains why all my posts are edited: Of course GoG does not belong to SqEn, Eidos does.

Please stop, I am crying already :(
