I saw The Road finally...and fuck you Avatar, this movie was a masterpiece! I loved every moment of it. It has got to be the most dramatic film I've seen in years. The last 40 minutes had me almost crying...I'm gonna buy it and the book.
If you haven't seen it, you are missing out.

Saw THE GIRL WHO LEAPT THROUGH TIME. It was really good. At least, until the last half an hour. The ending just falls apart really, tries to introduce a new plot twist but fails and leaves tons of massive questions unanswered. It's still one of my favourite anime movies though.

I saw predators at the cinema. It was watchable but not very good(the alternative was seeing eclipse with my family). Also watched midnight express and black dynamite. Midnight express was very good and so was black dynamite although some parts were pretty bad most of the time it was funny and the action was great.

I agree 110%, The Road is truly incredible. I loved every moment of it just like you said you did. And you're one tough son of a gun to last until the last 40 minutes before you were even about to cry, I was holding back tears throughout the whole thing. A man can't cry in the movies, you know. Towards the end I thought "screw that" and cried so much that I couldn't even see the screen without wiping my eyes all the time. I really want to watch it again with someone who doesn't feel uncomfortable with crying men or, even better, decides to join me in my pathetic sobbing :D
The last one I saw in the movies: A Nightmare on Elm Street. It was okay, the ending was lame though.
The last one I saw home: Rambo 2. What can I say, it's a classic. The line in the scene when Stallone jumps out of the pirate boat when it collides with the other boat always gets me, though. You know, when he emerges from the water unhurt and Co shouts "Rambo! You made it!" O'rly? :D Yeah me and my sense of humor, I just find it ludicrously brilliant.

these last 2 nights I've watched and rewatched Overnight, a movie about Troy Duffy, the guy who directed Boondock Saints.
Starting around 2002, I heard a lot of raves for Boondock Saints on various message boards, but I never watched it until this year. I watched the first 20 minutes of it, and while it wasn't bad, I couldn't get into it so I turned it off. I remember seeing the opening credits and seeing Troy Duffy as the writer and director and thinking " I've never even heard of Troy Duffy before. Why isn't a guy who has made a pretty large cult film involved in movies any more?"
well the movie Overnight explains everything. Short story- While trying to get the movie made,Troy Duffy shows he's a huge egomaniacal dickhole who acts more important than he is, and his friends and Hollywood tell him to fuck off
I've watched this movie 3 times in the last 24 hours because I find it disturbing yet fascinating.
Highy recommended if you like seeing real life arrogant douchebags get smacked by karma

Just saw Predators, and wow! What... a.... WTF?!? What was that?!?
Big disapointment for me.
Like many fans, I had too much high hopes, but it wasn't a reason to make a so bad movie.
We heard that Robert Rodriguez was in charge of the project (Rodriguez may not be a very good director, but well, he's not so bad either) and that he worked on the story since the 90s. O-K... But explain me why is it soooo bad?
This movie is nothing more than a rip-of of the first movie, with flat one-liners characters, and a terrible scenario (if we really can call it that way...). We don't care for any character...
So: bad script, bad characters. But, we have the action! Everywhere we can read "an action-packed flick" or so. But, hey, WTF? Even the action scenes are terrible, completely un-dynamic and un-exciting.
Overall, a lame and - I didn't excepct to say that about this film - a boring movie. Yes, I was bored watching it. To be nasty, I could even says that the AvP movies were (lamest but) less boring...
Pfew, what a waste of time and money. Time to rewatch the first Predator, right now!
PS: where the hell is the good old predator's screaming sound?...

Just recently watched The Crazies remake, thought it was pretty good. Kudos to them for using the guy from Hitman.

Just watched Punch Drunk Love for the first time and thought it was great. I can't believe I waited so long to watch it

Heh, I actually enjoyed that movie, thought it was pretty decent. Of course it's nothing compared to the first one, but I enjoyed it more than any of the other sequels (yeah I know, that doesn't tell much, but still). It could have been a lot better, but I can't really say I was disappointed. I guess I didn't expect too much, although I still think it was pretty good.
The last movie I've seen is probably Assault on Precinct 13. A pretty entertaining film with the worst sniper cops ever. Seriously, they can't even hit an unaware stationary target at one point of the movie. No wonder they get their butts kicked.

Watched Inception today.
Everyone should watch it.

Gonna watch Inception maybe next weekend when the crowd's smaller.
The last movie I watched was Solomon Kane. Kick ass film, the end battle sucked, but yeah kick ass film nonetheless. 3.5 stars. It'll probably never come out in the States or most of the world though, so you're gonna have to seek other sources to watch it, if you get my drift.

I watched James Clavell's "Shogun" over the past week. It was a 1980's mini-series that I remembered but had not watched since the original airing. My wife found the 5 disc boxed set for $20 and got it for me since she remembered me saying I would like to see it again. Don't know that I would pay full price for it but . . . worth renting if you can find it.
Didn't care much for the first 15 mins which lead up to the shipwreck. Poorly done helicopter shots and a scene with a dirty lens. After that, I really enjoyed it. Mostly drama, action (not by today's standards) and love story. Only one Japanese actor speaks English, Lady Mariko (Yoko Shimada), the rest speak Japanese thru the entire series. I thought that actually enhanced the show since you could relate to the main character's isolation. An interesting look into the 1600's Japanese / Samurai culture. I was surprised how well it has held up and it looked great on wide screen.
I believe it may have been the inspiration for "The Last Samurai" (Tom Cruise) but it was more entertaining, IMHO, since the story was told in 8 hrs vs 2 hr and more focused on a good story telling rather than making any one actor look good. A Good Old Movie / series . . . =)

Agreed, Inception is a must-see! One of the best movies I've seen =O! Not only recently but overall ... I haven't seen that many but anyway. I can't wait until it gets released on Blu-Ray!
