soulgrindr: Well, I finally bit the bullet and watched Transformers 2: Revenge of the fallen.
I knew going in that it was supposed to be bad, but i figured braindead action movies are good for your day off. But OH MY GOD it was terrible. It actually made my head hurt... and i had to stop watching it twice and take a break because it was so surreal.
The only reason I kept watching was some form of morbid fascination about what off the wall thing would happen next. It totally out-monty-pythoned all the monty-python movies... but that turned out to not be a good thing for my sanity.
I spent a lot of the time trying to work out how anyone could have thought this was in any state to release... i mean, michael bay isn't the greatest film-maker, but even he (or his 10 year old kid if he has one) must have seen this was... well... something.
I guess there was an ok 2-3 minute optimus prime fight in the middle... at around the 6-7 hour mark. Other than that it was all just to much for my brain.
So glad I didn't pay to see that in the cinema. It'd have driven me insane.
Also watched Hancock (in my catch up on missed action movies quest). First half was pretty good. Then it went downhill. But nothing on the epic scale of T2:ROTFL
I watched in the theater. The only good part was when the key breaks and this guy in theater started laughing so hard it was like he was yelling and no one else was laughing.
