so i just went through my super mutant infested area, and sneaking around i have to say i love their bits of dialogue. it's hilarious. "Come here Human, I got a nice treat for youuuuu."

i have still not made it to diamond city, too many other things to do. I don't think i'll ever get there hahaha

So everyone (raiders) seems to have a fat man. I'm in one area where I have to go clean out some of these guys, and I keep seeing the nukes go off and i'm like, "oh gods, i have to go in there...". Thankfully they are too OP for me, so i can meander and do other things.

Bongo, bongo, bongo, I don't wanna leave the congo, oh no no no no....

I did get to diamond city but it's far from over.. also I'm a female character in that game and they usually shout that where are you, you blue bitch. Well I mostly used vault suit because you can get those armors over that so it kinda makes sense.. also that piper calls me blue but i guess she calls anyone that.

I like the shouts when you use psycho.

It seems that I totally suck at sneaking in that one fist supermutant fight, he saw me quite well even if I used stealth-boy or whatever.. isn't everything good in there some boy. Still I hate that close map it makes no sense.

i thought i was too, but a point in sneak and moving very slowly helped a lot. though those super mutants seem to be really freakin' perceptive. i've not gotten close to anyone, but close enough to get some good head shots. Plus i found a good sniper finally with night scope. :) so much head shots! <3

There are a *lot* of nuke flashes in FO4, it seems, (perhaps because of the much-increased activity of random NPC groups over the previous games) but many of them are Super Mutants. If you haven't yet had the joy of meeting the Suiciders, you will.

You will.

oh god yes, I met one last night. He charged, I died. :( lol

My brother told me he met and killed his first Super mutant Behemoth. I am imagining it to be as large as a house and wielding a telephone pole with train spikes in it.
The buildable area has an upper border. Was happily building skyward when I hit the height limit five stories up. :|

So what I have is a five-story tower, the top floor of which is a pavilion for surveying the surrounding area (see attached pic... forgive the poor-quality of the snapshot). Not too bad... though my wizardly lust for towers is unsatisfied... perhaps I'll build two or three more of these since I can't have that ten-story tower I'd planned... ;)

I haven't made it to Diamond City either.

Roleplay-wise, I don't know how long I was frozen in cryo-sleep after witnessing my son being kidnapped. He could have grown up and lived his life for all that I know. And even if he is still a child, I'll need a safe place to bring him once I find him. So for now I'm hammering out pieces of civilization in the wasteland and building an arsenal as I scout further and further south.

Player-wise, I've avoided spoilers, so I have no idea how the story unfolds. I assume there's no time limit, so I'm exploring mostly everything along the way. Not expecting much out of the story anyway. It's a Bethesda game, after all.

I've been busting out the power armor and mini-gun when I find particularly well-armed groups of raiders and super mutants. The hoarder in me wants to save them for later, but I keep finding more fusion cores, so why not? I am running low on 5mm rounds for the minigun, but I just got a missile launcher and a nice number of missiles from some mutants. :D

I haven't found many enemies wielding a fat man, but you're probably a higher level and further out from Sanctuary than me. Can't say I'm looking forward to that...

Also: Stream more! I wanna see "Crewdroog gets mini-nuked" playing soon. :P

VATS, also know as a system developed for those unable to use keyboard and mouse. Seriously, point click dead mutant, why on earth would you need to pause target various parts and then watch it.

I think of it as a compromise made for the fans of the turn based combat in the old Fallout games.
The solution in the F3 mod "Wanderer's Edition" which is using the "turns" to speed up yourself or slow down your surroundings/enemies does make more sense though since it doesn't constantly switch between real-time and turn based.

I will stream more soon, I just lost my cat and we believe her dead, so I haven't been able to concentrate much on the game. I'm feeling better about it and I hope to stream soon after turkey day. :)

Losing an animal friend you're used to seeing everyday isn't easy. Completely understand. No worries, you'll stream when you're ready to stream. :)

Just fortified Graygarden. Walls, turrets, the works. It's more-or-less a small castle now.

I've realized that I'm probably not going to be able to build as much in each location as I'd prefer. The limitations of the building system are showing: Wood and concrete are to a great degree limited to what you can scrap from each of the relatively small buildable areas.

Small amounts of wood (and maybe concrete) can be gained by scavenging and scrapping certain items, but there still don't seem to be enough resources to go around. I haven't finished with either Sanctuary or Graygarden, and I haven't built anything but turrets in other locations, but I'm already running out of wood.

This despite the wasteland being full of boarded-up buildings, trees, and other potential sources of materials...

Maybe it's asking for too much, but I think the system should have allowed for building anywhere and scrapping anything. Mods for Skyrim allow drag-and-drop building anywhere, so it seems within the realm of possibility.

(And no, I haven't used the trick to exceed size limitations yet. This is all working within the default system.)

Honestly, for the building stuff, it's much more enjoyable when you have something like the "creative mode" in Minecraft.

So for this particular reason, I use and abuse the console command to get all the ressources I need because I don't want to waste my free time at collecting stuff in a videogame.

Just call the console and get some shipments of ressources (better than getting the "raw" material) like:
player.additem 001EC13F 50
for 50 shipments of concrete

I use this spreadsheet for item codes references:
